I am a little bored down here in Panama, so im considering moving to Philippines...

Thing though is i need a place thats fun and i can make friends easily..

Im also looking for a luxurious place... My budget is $1,500.month for Rent... Thats what im paying now in Panama(its gotten expensive here), but its a nice condo..

Anyway i need ideas on where to live? makati, angeles or cebu??

Also is it possible to be on the beach, and still be near everything??

How easy will it be to make friends.. ps im early 20's..

Try tawi-tawi near solu region. people there are friendlier than those people in Cebu.

makati is the best place for you

i agree. if you want to live in the city then makati is the place to be. the nightlife is decent and the hunnies roam in flocks. food, rent, transportation are cheap and its easy to get around. also check out the fort its an up and coming area with luxury condos for cheap.

forget about cebu or angeles city. the people there are low class and theres nothing to do during nighttime but kick it with ghetto bar chicks. your standards of living will drop so fast, you'll end up knocking up one of them hoes and they'll want you to bring them to America.

Dam you can get luxury with 1500$ here you can get some 3room shower , kitchen apartment or about same size row house ?

Is there highspeed internet in makati and cebu? I am also thinking of going to the phillipines for some months - but need a good internet connection.
I know Boracay has good kitesurfing so I would probably be based there if the internet is decent

glad you're considering staying in our country. and they're right when they say girls like african-americans here dude! especially if you're the fun kind. if you like the nightlife, makati is the place. you'll find all kinds of bars and girls there. from the first class ones to the lower class ones. and you can find a nice condo there for $1000 a month. check out rockwell. it's right at the heart of makati. first class living but very near makati ave where all the exciting bars are.

Drink the readily available bottled water. Buko (young coconut) juice is also safe if they have not added local ice to it. Be wary also of Buko juice vendors, some usually just add sugar to water. Buy and eat fruit that has not already been cut up. Cooked food from a karenderia (outdoor canteen) is okay if there is a fire under the pots and the food has been kept hot.

If you must drink tap water (it is usually served/contained in a small to medium plastic bag), water in Manila, Cebu City, Subic, and Angeles may be ok, but it is recommended that you boil tap water for at least 5 minutes just to be safe. Elsewhere drink bottled water. There is always the risk of contracting amoebiasis when drinking tap water in the countryside. Also, this applies to ice that is usually put in beverages.

Bottled water is best purchased from within stores and sheltered eateries. Bottled waters sold outside (by the roads) are more than likely used bottles filled with tap water, sealed then cooled.

CDC [14] advises that risk of malaria exists in areas below 600 meters, except for the provinces of Aklan, Bilaran, Bohol, Camiguin, Capiz, Catanduanes, Cebu, Guimaras, Iloilo, Leyte, Masbate, northern Samar, Sequijor, and metropolitan Manila. Chloroquine is no longer a recommended malaria preventative for anywhere in the Philippines. In general malaria is not common in the Philippines compared to Africa and the rest of mainland Southeast Asia, and around half of the c. 40,000 annual cases are in a couple of discrete locations.

Also please note the tubercolosis is very common in the countryside, it is advisable not to stay in certain villages in areas you are not familiar with for a very long time. It is also higly advisable that if one coughs or looks weak in strength it is highly advisable to avoid contact with that person.

Bring anti-diarrheal drugs with you, as unsanitary conditions present a high risk for traveler's diarrhea.

Although the Philippines is a low HIV prevalence country, it still pays to take precaution. Other sexually transmitted diseases are more common than HIV.

I've been there and done that. You're going to need to get over a hundred shots before you enter the country to protect your own well being.
