Hey Guys-

Me and my partner go smashed today by twitter ban hammer. I am hoping it was just something more/less particular to us.

I am thinking it was because we were publishing affiliate links (SFW) with custom domains on ratios ranging from 5 TW accts per 1 domain.. upto 15 TW accts per 1 domain.

The damage was most acute on 12-15 TW acct per 1 domain group and newer accts were particularly hit. Accts that were not posting links were untouched.

So, yeah.. 80% of accts gone today.

Anyone else getting hit?

Guys with more conservative # of TW accts per custom tracking domain, I assume were safe??

Thoughts?

Best,

Hi got a few today to reverify - what do you mean by "5 TW accts per 1 domain.." - you mean 5 twitter accounts tweet one and the same domain?

It can be a bigger purge. I also lost a couple of accounts not today though, but 2 days ago. I already replaced them.

As for me it's not related to the domain:account ratio or it can't be, because i always use 1 account per domain. It can't be the proxies either, because i use 2 account per proxy (one account was booted on the same proxy, while the other one wasn't.)

I think the reason is more like an account activity pattern or something related to account creation such as bad ips.

There's an article about Twitter suspending accounts today: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2016/11/15/twitter-suspends-alt-right-accounts/93943194/, although it looks like a political thing, but i wouldn't be surprised, if they had done a little bit of spring cleaning and suspended other type of accounts too.

Twitter just added the "Mute user" and "Mute words" feature, i can imagine this similarly to blocking, if enough people mutes you, you can get a strike. One more thing to worry about. :)

Correct, I use an affiliate tracking (like a Voluum) that creates affiliate links based on custom tracking domains that only I use. I own the domain names.

Thanks HoneyBird! Good information!

You are the person I was thinking would not be affected, but yeah.. now you have me thinking along different lines with your facts.

Maybe Twitter has some kinda crude quality score they are running on accts.

same here 9 accs w warning, sending 100 mentions a day each one (w affiliate link)

I didn't get a ban but last night my account did get locked with a phone verification. The thing is, every time I get the bot to call me there is silence on the line so I cant get my code. Is anyone else experiencing this?

that could be a signal problem, wait a day or try from another location.

I mostly use paid online services to get the calls or SMS, a couple of times i also noticed this. It turns out at the first verification attempt, so i just use a different number. Some numbers can't receive calls, others SMS, while others get only "blank calls", those numbers are not good and you need to use different ones.

This was my own personal cell phone number that I used. Support replied to me 2 days later saying "Sorry you got caught up in our anti spam bot filter, we've unlocked your account!"
