I'm not a horrible writer, and sometimes I even enjoy it, but it's just so hard to get started sometimes.
I want to start an amazon affiliate site, and I even have a pretty good niche.
Its just so hard to figure out what exactly to write about, and then to get
motivated to write 500-2000 words for just one article.

My question is do y'all have any tips or tricks on how to stay motivated to write?
Also any tips on how to figure out what to write about or how to structure my writing is much appreciated.:)

Lol I understand. I have written some of the best articles for people here on this site! I do tons of research, and make sure it is much better than any of their competitor's sites.

But... I HATE IT! And I don't think I will ever do it again unless it is for myself! I don't even like doing for my own sites haha!

I think it is much better to buy from other freelancers now, but the problem is finding someone else as capable. If you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself!

If you find someone good, keep them!

Sorry this is not one of my most motivational responses!

You aren't going to rank without content, if you want to cash out you gotta put in the effort man. I'm currently writing articles every day for my affiliate site :D Hard work pays off.

Lol I understand I appreciate your response. I've been getting samples from various writers on BHW just to see the quality. Most of them aren't that great, granted I'm not amazing either it's just if I'm going to spend $250+ on content I'd rather it be perfect. I guess I might just have to figure out some schedule to get myself on.

Sadness....I really need to get myself that magic paypal monkey that I hear prints money...Maybe that'll be next on my list to check out;)

Well, I tend to crack open some beers, throw on a movie, and type without looking at the screen. I crank out a few articles like this. Once the movie is over, I edit, proofread, etc and post it. Usually works out for the best.

Other than that, I buy content because fuck writing.

Find something you enjoy writing about, or at least have experience. I have written 24,000 words of a book over the last 6 days. I am not saying that to brag because I am sure many could do better, but its grueling work as it has to be highly edited as well. Of course I also updated websites and wrote a few articles, but that was side stuff.

To be honest it was still a ton of work and now im ready to kill myself, but it was worth it.

One reason it was possible is because I set goals, and said I would get it done. Also because I have personal interest in the subject, so I was motivated to write it and write well.

It might not apply the same with Amazon affiliate articles, but if you find a topic you really enjoy or is easy to write about, it can be so easy to crank those articles out.

i'm sure this book can inspire you and make explode your creativity: amazon.it/Remembering-Process-Surprising-Breakthrough-Creativity/dp/1401941591

You can just buy them without spending a ton of money. Order some 500 words article for a few dollars and then just add some your own content on it. Content is not that expensive nowadays and you can find some good content for a low price.

I once wrote a 1800-word article and it ended up bringing me around 5 grand. Still brings in cash too. So it is $ and knowing that it will keep bringing $ as long as it is relevant that motivates me to write.

Is the niche something you feel strongly about, or are you in it just for the $$$? If it's just the $ then you'll be quite screwed since money isn't always a decent motivator. Some of my sites are now left hanging empty for this very reason...

Very few of us have the pleasure of being able to make a living off what we enjoy. That's just life.

Focus on improving the other aspects of your project and just hire a content writer. Hit me up. i can help you

But... I HATE IT!

Jessica Ennis, the Heptathlete, had a horrible shot put.

"I hate it!" she said in 2004. Her PB at the time was less than 11metres in that event.

Her coach told her to change her mindset. Instead of "I hate it", she started chanting "I love it! I have so many improvements to make and if I do, there's hundreds of extra points I can get just in that event!"

Within 8 years, she had improved her shot put by over 3.5 metres, adding an extra 250 points in one event.

She also won the World Championships (twice if an appeal is granted on a Russian doper), broke the National and Commonwealth records, and ultimately won Olympic Gold at London 2012, her home olympics. She then had a baby, and still returned to win another championships and a silver medal in Rio 2016.

Her advice to a younger teammate who flopped in Rio, Katarina Johnson Thompson, who is brilliant at everything apart from the shot putt and Javelin?

"Don't worry Kat, my shot was terrible at your age too. You just have to find a reason to love it"

Thought you might find that useful. ;)

EDIT: Sorry mate, for some reason got you and the OP mixed up, thought you were asking the original Q. Oh well, hope it helps somebody nonetheless.

Commonly I read something related to my writing to get an inspiration or just talk to people.
Sometimes, I simply go out from my home, have a little walk or sport.
Good luck!

I sometimes get tired of constant thinking of tasks I need to complete, so I try to get somehow distracted. Read something interesting, go for a walk, talk to friends or just watch people on the street - helps me to clear up the mind and relax

There might have been a lot of useful advices already written and this one as well, but what will SURELY help you is just reading your competitors content and according to it write a better content.

Read other, find flaws, research more and write your own.
Good stuff here is you can follow the same structure so that will save you time.

I usually start watching interviews of prominent and notable people (and good speakers) to gain insipiration on the topic I am supposed to write about. Sometimes I try to I write out keywords or useful phrases in the process, and then use them as core ideas of the article. It works like a charm for me;)
