In my experience linking to Amazon.com actually has higher clickthrough rates because people recognise it instantly and trust it.

Hmm, maybe you're right. I just checked my Analytics Live Convertions after I clicked amazon link and didn't count it, so probably I just had wrong settings in Google Tag Manager..

Actually keywords virtually don't matter with this method since you're counting on forum traffic for the first sales. Basically the more competitive it is in search engines, the higher your odds of success.
Meh, I'm skeptical about this method. I've been working as a freelance content marketing writer and copywriter for the last year, and I ventured into internet marketing with the intention of carving out some stable income for myself, as freelance writing is unpredictable. I started my website two weeks ago, uploaded some high-quality articles that I wrote myself - in a profitable niche, yet I haven't made a cent. Not one single solitary cent. I'm also only averaging around 40 website visits per day. I've had around 60 clicks into Amazon, but zero conversions. So I'm starting to think there is something missing. Also, a lot of the traffic is wasted because not everyone visiting is in America -- e.g UK visitors. If someone from England clicks my affiliate link, I don't get their conversion because they get redirected to the UK Amazon site. I know a plausible solution would be to sign up to the UK affiliate program and insert affiliate links from there too, but the site already looks spammy enough in terms of the Amazon images appearing on my pages. As much as I appreciate the write-up, I don't believe this to be profitable in the slightest, considering my articles are all high-quality and it's an evergreen niche. I think I'll try the Instagram method next but hmm, that seems impossible to keep accounts with.

I'm actually also experiencing the same thing. Been checking other ways on how to make income online, confused with what method I need to use, and feel like demotivated sometimes because of the efforts I'm exerting. Can you please let us know your journey about this method few months from now?

Yeah I've been utilizing forums and google news sources related to my topic. I understand that two weeks is a short amount of time, but the way meathead wrote the post seemed to give the impression that money would start rolling in quickly if you've done what he outlined correctly. Well, I've taken all the necessary steps and I'm seeing disappointing results. I'll keep plugging away, though. Two weeks is way too short to give up on it. Also with forums, sometimes it's hard to work your link into an answer without being spammy. I always provide value, but the truth is still obvious that I'm linking to an affiliate site. I think the method requires far more work than was outlined in the OP, so it's a tad misleading. Still, I do appreciate it.

To all the people that are feeling disappointed that they're not making sales - just keep at it. I started my site/plan back in mid August and have been working at it whenever I can (a full time job and kids takes up a lot of my time). I haven't always had confidence with this plan but now I'm really starting to see how it all fits togther.
I'm starting to broaden my scope on where I can post links and mention my site and am really looking forward to see how far I can take it.
Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for help. It definitely helped me focus on some key areas of my site that needed attention. Doesn't hurt to get a second opinion.

@WhitePassion Did you notice that on the beginning and on the end of every month amount of orders is bigger that in middle of month? Or it's just on my website?

Would ArticleForge do a good-enough job for the site's content and articles?
For a while I was joining forums and trying to get into a position where I could just post one of my reviews. I had forgotten that I only need to join a forum just so I could eventually post the links to my reviews instead of the review itself.
And now that traffic is on the rise, I need to keep the momentum going by publishing regular content and getting more of my links out there.
I've been asked about putting up some sort of price range for my items. I know that putting the actual price for the items is a big no-no, but is it possible to give a ball-park figure. Sometimes an individual item on my site can vary from $50-$150 depending on aftermarket prices. Am I allowed to put up price estimates or is that still against the rules?

It can work, but com domain will be a lot better. There's a .link ranking in my niche, but KWfinder says it's 1 competition or something. You might regret getting a .link in the future, and com domains aren't expensive
You could try but don't expect much. I always read people saying that you need proper original content

You kind of bring up another really good point - it makes sense to create your forums accounts ahead of time, before actually posting so it looks more trustworthy.
