Spammy SERPs Since Penguin 4.0?

Hey guys,

There is a niche I track rankings for daily. Since Penguin 4.0 i've noticed massive fluctuations across page 1 and page 2.

I am seeing one domain show on page 1 multiple times at different URLs.

us.domain.com
au.domain.com
help.domain.com as an example. All 3 sites are the same domain.

I've also noticed twitter URL profiles going on page 1 at rank 8th/9th above "normal" sites.

Some of the other URL's that appear are shown for a day or 2 on page 1, then are below page 2 the next day. These URL's are ones that haven't been updated for months in some cases and have next to no content on the ranking page.

I know penguin means that everything is now real time - it just seems strange how some spammy domains are now appearing on page 1 of SERP's, whereas before penguin 4.0 that was never an issue.

Anyone else seem similar?

Im seeing even worst results today - any updates from anyone else monitoring their rankings?

In general: I think with the new realtime Penguin, many people started testing the limits. It's too early to really tell, but a realtime algorithm is an invitation to try how far you can push it.
