Facebook asking for photo ID

Hello all,

I have a personal Facebook account on my real name, from some days I were running ads on this account but suddenly my account locked and asking for Photo ID. Now I am thinking what to do ??
I have asked to some friends about it, some friends say that giving your Original ID is fine and some says do not give them original ID it is not reliable to give them or any other website your original details. They say If in future you run an ad and if there is any small copyright material in it then facebook will make fine on you. Or sue on you. Is that right ?

I am totally confused what to do. Please suggest me.

also in this account I have an educational website business page with upto 1000 likes.

If it is a personal REAL account I would send them my photo ID asap and get it verified. What should be wrong with that!

I think you're about to be banned. It happened to me once and after sending them my real ID, my ad account was permanently banned. But you can try out your luck. I think it has to do with your ads.

Yes Its my personal real account but two of my friends says that if you give them your photo ID and if in future by mistakenly you run an ad that has copyright material then they will give your information to the company whose materials you used in your ad.

Is that right ?

Well I look at Facebook like this. Whatever you do when you signup on this website will be public and whatever information you give them can and will be used either against you or sold (in one way or another) to 3rd party. If you do anything illegal they will 100% hand over whatever they have on record about you to what ever authority is asking for it.

If you are on Facebook you are owned by the Public everyone will know whatever they want to know. And facebook will use your data and as much of it they can to make more money!

Did you believe Facebook is anonymous?

Create a fake account for whatever you want to do with their ad service!

You won't get lost just hire someone to do. Giving original documents to facebook employees is not worth. They are too scammers read on internet you will find a lot.

Yes you are right, if they are sincere then why they are not showing their employs IDs on their website. If they are getting our IDs then they should have to provide their identities so we should know that to whom we are giving our original IDs. And if in future any mess happend to our IDs and if any of their employs are involved in it then we can take an action about it.

When we go in Bank and other organizations and if they asked for the submission of IDs then we also meet the person to whom we are submitting our ID and we know the name and designation of that person so we also satisfied with that.

Check them and do verified.
Last month i lost my 2 fb id.
So will take every step very carefully.

facebook now seem more secure and need all things to verified.... that's why .. I using some other fb account to manage my facebook pages and linking to other profile for more secure...
arghh... right now.. enter facebook like entering the FBI buildingss.. hahahha

They are scams, and this is the another method to make money. Don't give original ID try with a duplicate and see if it works or else leave it to them.
Never rely on fake people and sites.

RuthSam is right, for your real account you always have to follow FB terms and requests.

i would send in my own ID, easiest way. They only need to see clearly your name, birthday and photo and you can cover any confidential information (ex: your license or passport number). I would not be worried about abuse of your ID, but if you are, just send in photoshopped one.
