Does web 2.0 networks still work?

Hey,

Does web 2.0 network consisting of expired tumblr's, weebly's and hand made wordpress blogs with 10+ articles, still work?

Lets say 10 tumblr's,5 weebly's, 10 wordpress blogs and unique articles on all of them everything hand made, would that provide any ranking boost to medicore keywords or no chance for that?

I know they used to work, but what about now?

It still works. Its an easy way to diversify the link profile and increase the ref. domain. In that terms try to use as many platform you can. For fresh web 2.0 you need to do some solid 2nd tier as well.
