Are backlinks from inner pages worth spending money on?

Hello. Assume I have a budget of $40 a month. Let's say a domain has a DA of 40 and is in my niche. So the DA is pretty decent. Now this domain has an inner page but there are very few external links pointing to this inner page (or maybe there are no external links at all pointing to this inner page). The owner of this domain is unwilling to put a backlink to my site from his homepage. However, the owner offers to put a backlink to my site from one of the inner pages of his website for $4 a month. Assume the traffic I'll get from such a backlink from is negligible. Also assume the number of OBL from the inner page to external websites is around 10 to 20.

Now let's say there are 10 such domains, all with DA of 40, with inner pages similar to the example above. With my budget of $40 a month, I can buy 10 such backlinks, all from inner pages, but all these inner pages have few or no external links pointing to it. Alternatively, I have an option of spending my entire $40 on a single backlink on a homepage from a domain with a DA of 40. The number of OBL from this homepage is also 10 to 20.

If all these domains have a DA of 40, am I better off purchasing 10 backlinks from 10 different inner pages (from 10 different domains) or am I better off purchasing a single backlink from the aforementioned homepage? Which would help my ranking in Google more?

Now a days finding a Domain with high DA is difficult were as you asked my thoughts is to go with spending your entire $40 on a single backlink on a homepage from a domain with high DA will gives you a best result , good luck

not necessarily - it all depends on the competition as well as what sort of link you are going to get from this inner page post. Is it going to be a contextual link within an article or more like a directory? If this is a valuable website then 10 inner links could be beneficial. They can get you some position -> once you start earning money you can move to buying better quality links.

It won't be a contextual link within an article. It may be the "Links" page of a website where the website lists links to other websites in that niche.

It depends if it's a good quality backlinks. Quality is very important. If this single backlink to the homepage has high quality than the 10 innerpage backlinks, then go for that single one. Let's say for example you get that 10 innerpage then you have there 3-5 that have been spammed/abused then this can affect your ranking.

what I don't understand (I know it's not what OP means) is why people who ask for backlinks... they want home page links of their sites (client's sites). Like how the f can that ever get into sites like lifehack? They give me the homepage of like a vape site, or whatever, and there's this BLOG section that would beautifully be accepted no problem... but no they want a link to the home page... which has a 70% chance of removal. I don't understand.

Let's assume Pagerank is still working even though Google no longer gives Pagerank scores. These inner pages have a Pagerank of 0 because they have few or no backlinks pointing to it, despite the domain of the inner pages has a DA of 40. The homepage has a Pagerank of 4. Everything else being equal (ie. OBL on homepage is same as inner page, the content is the same on homepage and the inner pages, etc), aside from the homepage having backlinks pointing to it and the inner pages having few or no backlinks pointing to it, would you choose the 10 innerpage backlinks over the single homepage backlink?

Thanks for your advice! I'm beginning to lean towards this too - just waiting to see if others have another viewpoints.
