I can't decide between these 2 servers, I will be using them for RankerX and GSA SER mainly.

Is the SSD server worth the extra couple bucks?

$11.50
  • Intel Xeon E5-1650v2
  • 3 Core
  • 3.5GHz+
  • 4GB DDR3
  • 150GB HDD Raid10 Protected
  • 1Gbps Full Dulpex
  • Unmetered Bandwidth

$15.00
  • Intel Xeon E3-1240v5
  • 3.5Ghz+
  • 4 Core
  • 4GB RAM (DDR4?)
  • 50GB SSD
  • 1Gbps Port
  • Unmetered Bandwidth

Thanks, I updated the OP with the details.

Look the processors up on cpu benchmark
I think cpu and ram is more important for gsa.
Plus 50GB is really not much space once you install Windows.

i will go with 11.50$ because it is cheap. and gsa can even run on as low as 1gb ram not sure about ranker X

You should find out what the guaranteed bandwidth is for both VPS plans. I doubt you are getting 1Gbps guaranteed since the traffic is unmetered.

With GSA - ram 4gb is enough - the cpu`s are great and since its vps you can bump up cpu work to around 80% it would still be good
And these are server processors not you regular desktop so they can take up any kind of load ( depending on your host virtualizaiton software and if its not oversold. )

Your right choice. But the prices are shady i doubt you will see good performance as advertised and unlimited bandwith ? Normal price for a good VPS to run GSA on an Offshore Network is around 40$ with 1gbps unlimited traffic.

What is the refund policy during the trial period? Most providers’ trials are not truly free – you’ll end up paying for the service, but get your money back if you are unsatisfied. That said, what does that refund entail?

Thanks everyone for sharing your opinions!

I went with the SSD (39GB after win 2012 install, which is plenty for me). And so far I'm very satisfied.

@virtualpurity I know that the prices seems off, but it's a promo and the service have good reviews (BST and Trust Pilot). Also the support have been good.

@Brousecu The refund terms for VPS are: "Partial Refund as Pro-Rata Based. We will deduct the Days you used the Service"

This is the speed, I tried at different times and it's about the same, it's fine for my needs.

I would do the E3 one if it was me setting this up.

Only thing is with that price point there is a good chance that server is being over sold. So you might want to double check the provider. You can always add more cores and ram on VPS so that is not an issue
