My site was ranked on google but now it lies on 5th page of google. I checked backlink of my site and found that unwanted backlink was hugely added on my site. How was that happen?
How can I get rid of it? Will my site does rank again if that unwanted backlink is removed?

If you have access to the sites that you have those backlinks placed on, then you can go in and manually delete the links. Also, if used some automated tool to create the backlinks, then perhaps it has an automated way for you to remove those backlinks. And if all else fails, you can try disavowing the links through Google Search Console.

First of all, use the disavow tool to remove all the unwanted backlinks, your competitors might did the infamous neg seo to your website.

Your site will rank again if you delete all of them and start doing what you did before to reach the top spot.

Of course you should remove this links and yes your website must rank after that.

If you've got access to sites you can manually edit them out. If not, the other option is disavowing the links.

If the links are really spammy and you want to be sure Google knows you're making your best effort to remove them - you should first contact the webmaster to have the links removed. Then, wait 1-2 weeks to see if they remove the links. If they do, you're fine. If not, then add them to your disavow file, but add a comment describing the actions you took to remove the links, such as who you emailed on what date, and let them know the site did not remove your links. This is the best practice for a removal plus disavow.

You should use tools like ahrefs to check the links of poor quality and eliminate it by sending files in google webmaster disavow ;)

Hi, according to official statements by Google is no longer punishes links, they are cleared.(Penguin 4.0) Check out the more technical side of the site: server response code, response time, availability of bots, spam content

check your "google index/content keywords " and check your keyword rows if there is any unwanted words , there is no doubt that you hacked and you should deactivate them with disavow tools

you can use disavow link tool by Google, this tool will remove unwanted links as you want.

Just ignore 'em. The new Google algorithm is going to lengths to ignore these kinds of links. So much so, I've heard the disavow tool could be discontinued in the future. (It's already pretty well hidden - that's a hint.)

The disavow tool was Google's way of recruiting people to tell them what links are spammy. Pretty smart boys and gals.

use google webmaster tools or ask your host provider with help, Im sure that they can help you.
I had a friend who had the same problem.

Where did you get this info? All the big players argue that you don`t have to bring any proof that you took measures to remove the links. You don't even have to go the extra mile according to most bloggers..

people keep crying wolf with negative SEO but a lot of "experts" say its no longer a danger, Im not sure who to believe coz a friend was telling me his website got destroyed by thousands of chinese links

Use google webmaster tools for link analysis there you can all updates about backlinks and all crawling errors
