As most of you might know I was an active member this summer on BHW, I was trying to make a steady flow of cash with Instagram only. Quite hard when you don't have any big accounts. The reason why people are not making a steady flow of cash is because of the inconsistency that Instagram brings. I experienced it myself. Obviously when you own multiple million followers accounts you are making a steady income. This Q&A is meant for the people that don't have those resources.

A couple years back, probably 2, I had this rough idea of growing Instagram accounts for a living. I never pulled through since I was 16 back then. I thought that I could never make it happen because of my age. All I did was selling shoutouts, made around 300-500 euro per month. I was happy with that, because why does a 16 year old kid need more right?

I turned 18 a year ago, went legit and worked my ass off to get as many clients as possible. Now I have enough clients to not do shit besides following my study.

What I do:

• Create accounts
• Grow accounts
• Monitor all clients accounts
• Social media strategies
• Social media campaigns
• Social media workshops for companies in The Netherlands

What I work with:

• My company website
• A bot
• My company's e-mail
• My phone
• Contacts in the industry

I'm working 30 minutes per day on this, I have had several campaigns where I am not using a bot. Since working with a bot works not as good as doing things manually, but this takes more time. The results are 3-4x as good when I do things by hand.
Clients that demand that kind of service take around 3 to 4 hours per day, I take one on per time.

• What are the viable things to do to gain followers when you're starting from 0 and got no money to invest?
• If I got an access to bots, does using them is better than manual if you have little to no followers?
• What's the minimum amount of followers do you think so an account's post can reach the explore page?

Amsterdam, before I started I posted what I can offer on various dutch forums. A couple people responded and I did some trials on their accounts to make sure that I could live up to the expectations. I was asking €59 for 15 days.

Before I used my bot I did everything manually. Create an account -> select a niche -> get a good name -> set up a nice bio + profile -> start following -> post at least once a day in the beginning -> after 1-2k followings start unfollowing. Repeat this multiple times and watch out for the limits, you'll succeed if you're dedicated.
And no, manual work is always better than bot work in my opinion.
Any account can reach explore page, it is not bound to x amount of followers. It all depends on the algorithm that IG has at that time.

I start an account with a certain niche that I like, I don't do accounts that I don't like because you will abandon those accounts pretty fast. I feel like I'm using all the things you are saying, so niche targeted, targeted followings and the content I post.

Hey man nice work, so young and doing so well, congratulations! I've been working on a photography account of all original content since the start of the year now and have manually gotten to 15k+ - Even though my "manual strategy" of following and unfollowing accounts, liking in my niche every day has been consistent & successful the entire time, It would now seem of late that my strategy has plateaued. I'm not sure what else I can do to get on track to growing more and ultimately get followers buying prints from my store. P.s. just moved to The Netherlands but don't speak a work of dutch, tot zeins!

I started Instagram about 11 months ago from scratch and currently I am at 85 000 followers in the cars niche, everything has been done manual (posting, follow, unfollow, liking, commenting etc.) I still am not making any money, can you give me any advice or I should just keep working until i hit 100k - 200k ? Thanks mate.

i started an acc from scratch about 2 weeks ago and it currently has about 500 followers and gets avg 90-120 likes per post. Idk if thats good or not but ive invested 0 money into the acc. what i did was hashtag whored my first 12 posts or so to get an audience and i was posting 3 times a day. then i went through all the people who liked my pics maybe like 3-4 people at that time and i would like spam their whole insta (this forms a relationship even though you dont talk to them ever) and i still do that every now and then ill go spam some peoples profiles. at around 200 i join an engagement group and that shot my engagement up a lot. now im at a steady 10-15 follower gain a day but keep in mind this is a two week old acc and 0 money spent. hope this helps

Boost your account with powerlikes, I do not recommend this because you will be left with inactive followers that have seen 1 of your pics and decided to follow, they don't care about your page.

I started making money whenever I wanted to, it's all about finding the right contacts. Shoot me a PM with your skype details and I'll help you further. Maybe I have a contact that is interested in buying shoutouts.

I'd advice you to start do the follow/unfollow method, easy way to gain free followers.

I have an account that went viral more than 15 times, it has around 70k followers. It does not grow without being on explore page, whenever its on explore it gains 3-4k in 2 days. If it is not on explore it loses followers. Engagement is bad too without being on explore. The perfect account is an account that grows consistant.
