Sorry for late update! So, what I tried to do was create a campaign where all new followers would have a chance to win a prize (our product),
and boost this towards the right demographic.

Same story as last time. Tons and tons of likes, but a handful of followers. IG advertising is pure and utterly shit.

Right now I'm leaning on either buying shoutouts from every page on the face of the earth, or do the slow grinding way with help of
a guy I found through BHW. Will keep you posted..

I'm sorry to hear that! I was actually in the process of putting together a contest that I would be promoting via IG ads. Reading this, I'm going to rethink that. Good luck!

hey Op, what about contacting youtubers in your niche?
they could give you a shout out campaign on from their youtube videos to your instagram.


or combine a giveaway with youtube shoutouts to your page:

for example:

hey check out "op" on instagram theyre doing a free giveaway to their followers!

if you were to run a month long giveaway competition with the youtuber shouting you out for every video he/she does in that month, that could lead to some series growth, possibly.
Find a youtube with more than 150k subscribers and you could see some growth. especially if its a decent prize at the end of a giveaway like a new go-pro or phone.

Problem is I did. Super targeted in interest, 18-34 in age (so no 13yr old girls), men, purchased online before etc etc - to get rid off all low quality. It got 18.200 picture likes and 9 followers - and worst of all
over 40% of them was just 13yr old boys/girls who either didn't set up age/gender or put a fake one when registering. Oh and a lot outside the country I chose to target.

So yeah.. IG targeting is way off.

Can you not target based on followers of certain pages?
