With the rise of free Telegram groups, there are assholes who try selling links to these groups for $50.

Caught a few usernames to watch for

Come on now. Those three are selling access to a group that is pay to enter. Call it a "scam" if you want, but it's the owners rules. It's not free to join for anyone. Not like they're trying to cheese you out of money for a free group.

I know, and I agree that's scummy, but I know a couple of people on that list, and they were selling it for a pay to join group.

Its totally fine if it's normally a pay to join group

I have never asked someone to pay for a free entry group, the only time I've asked people to join is a paid very active group, that's fee to join is $50 which the owner of the group made, I can't change that...
