Can Black Hat SEO Work For Me?

Hi All,

Hope you're well. I am new to the forum, so excuse the naivety.

I own an online furniture company, based in the UK and we are looking into the possibility of how quick we can get our website ranking for the Christmas / January rush of sales.

- Does Black Hat SEO still work?
- How quick could we start to see results? (even if they are short term - this is not a problem)

Would be interested to hear your thoughts - bearing in mind the website is only 6 months+ old, and very LITTLE SEO work has been done to date.

Also, going to post in the Joint Venture thread about looking in to some SEO partnerships etc.

in the short time yes it could help you get some ranking and some business in. But the long term will hurt your site.

If you have a real business then I would recommend white hat only.

Thanks - of course, I have a good understanding of SEO. We have got several keywords on Page 2, most being around 3-5. However these are medium - long term if I am honest. e.g. "Solid Oak Furniture UK" = Page 2. However, we really need to step up the volume now - but of course, appreciate the competitiveness of the industry.

yes and web site can rank in top 1 page but keep in mind that for 1 month Google will burn out maybe little less.

I would first focus on onsite SEO to give yourself a better chance of ranking for your keywords though.
