Moving to a cheaper country

I am in Africa since 7 years traveling around with my wife - so actually living here. I hope I never need to go back to Europe. Disadvantages here:
depending on the location: Electricity not permanently available (you need a little generator), Internet maximum 3G, sometimes for hours does not work fast, medical treatment is okay for standard things, sometimes even better, but for major things you have to go to the capital cities to get western standard treatment. Treatment is cheap, we pay everything cash. Roads are terrible. Nonetheless with 1000$ a month it is very difficult to survive even here, but with 2000$ you can live quite comfortable (2 people).
Advantages: cost of food is cheap, if you do not need Western food, that is expensive as imported, housing is cheap, people are very nice, crime rate is less than in US or EU. Climate is perfect. Public transport is cheap, taxi as well. To live really good here, you need also money!

That is going to severely limit the amount of money that a person can make. The potential losses from non stable electricity and 3G(and slower at times) vs 4G will add up very fast compared to the savings of living in Africa.

There's also extradition and existing laws that will cover cyber crimes. Its mostly the police not currently having the resources to worry about cyber crimes that gives people a false idea that they can commit fraud in certain countries.

Nope. I like some in Eastern Europe. I'm not going to give up quality services and reliability to save a few $.

What good is increasing the time of doing something from 1 hour to 3 hours or longer?

I've been to a few, but it doesn't make it impossible to know in depth as much as a local does for places that I haven't been to. Its a controversial thing since people everyone just aren't used to this concept. In same places the ability for someone far away to know just as much or more as they do, is even harder to grasp.

Unless countries are conspiring with Google,Facebook, Twitter, Bloomberg, Forbes and many other companies. To censor information and provide false information to people out of the country. How can I not know as much as a local.

I see. Europe (excluding some) > USA Any given day. Europe have much better health system, some of them have pretty low crime rate, have a good infrastructure, and these things combine = elevated quality of life. Atleast to me. Sure, US got some nice perks but, it's not my type of place.

American health system changed heavily back in 2010, if you can't afford it you get it for free. If you already are making a good amount of money you just aren't having it taken out of your taxes and instead paying for it manually. Crime is lower in many European places, but certain similar areas of the US have same crime rates as certain similar areas in Europe. For major urban areas, Europe is a better choice than the major urban areas of America if safety is your priority.

I'm not saying US is all bad and there's nothing good in it but parading it as the best thing wouldn't be a wise thing to do. I've seen a lot of surveys and US seems to be pretty down in this survey and that shit even surprises me. Anyways, to each his own.

Quality of hospitals and Cost of healthcare are two different things, medical bills can always be taken care of later. The US has much better hospitals than many places with free or cheap healthcare.

Also how much is self caused problems in the first place that can be taken care of? Driving like a maniac is a self choice. Smoking is a self choice, going to a smoky place is a self choice. Eating like a pig is a self choice. Sitting vs standing is a self choice. Not Exercising is a self choice.

Well, it's a little more complicated than that. Broke your arm or have pneumonia? You are much better off in Europe. Have a rare cancer that cost $2 million to treat? You'd be better off in US if you have insurance.

If you have insurance, wouldn't a broken arm or pneumonia also not be an issue depending on the deductible for us insurance and tax bracket you're in?

The next of kin doesn't pay the debt, it comes from the estate if the person didn't have insurance. You have checked the income tax rates in Scandinavian countries and the other countries you mentioned, and the VAT rates in those countries?

If this was 2009, I could understand this discussion, but things have changed alot because of the ACA that was signed into law in 2010.

In US, under obamacare you are pretty much on the hook for the first $6500 in medical costs per year, and since most insurance covers only 60-80%, if you get hospitalized at $13,000 a day for a few weeks (I have a family member who had this happen to), you're still fucked.

The ACA has made it more expensive, but depending on income level its still cheaper if you factor in other things like taxes. Its pointless to move to a T1 country in Europe for lower healthcare costs if the all the taxes are higher than what you would be paying for a similar private plan in the states.

Alot of things in some European countries are "Free", but in the "fine print" they still get you via other ways.

They most likely did something that caused the in the medical financial situation that they are in. If I want to waste money on sodas instead of putting it towards insurance while also lowering my risk of getting sick it was my own damn fault. Same if I want to drink beer and smoke.
