Author identity or bio

Do you guys find it better to have a real identity attached to the author of a blog? Like, do these kinda blogs convert more than if you don't provide any information about the author?

I see a lot of people using a stock photo of someone and some quick words in the about me page but I don't know the effectiveness of that.

How do you guys do it?

You can use a stock image but make sure its not overused, other wise most users don't bother but to some users it makes them develop trust with your website.
