What are the chances of this arising?

I see a ton of this talked about and thrown around and knowing that the vast majority of people arent using their own photos, designs, even words sometimes, etc. How many of you have run into trouble?

How would social media sites even exist if people werent doing this? Hell, the internet would be a boring place without it

Im in the adult niche right now. Ive talked to a guy whos been in the adult business for a while and he said hes never had dmca issues.

Im specifically holding back on some of my site because i dont want to run into trouble. This guy is the one who told me SPECIFICALLY to watermark my content, which i want to do, but also dont because of the aforementioned reasons.

Now, i could see that being a non issue in the short term. But what happens if some of your stuff is floating around 5 years down the line spread on social media and your watermark points to your domain which has all of your information?

Like a professional photographer happens to stumble upon a photo of his/ hers because its been spread around the internet so much way down the line?

Beyond DCMA issues, watermarking someone else's work can be used against you in a copyright case and you can't claim that you thought it was a "public domain" work with your watermark on it.

All of the photos were taken from tumblr. On some of the professional looking ones, i didnt post my domain. Ive left photos that originally had watermarks alone

I mean i get that they could but they were taken from a tumblr with a group of 100k followers, so that chit has been spread around a lot already.

Idk just the lure of the photo i posted lingering around forever is what gets me

I read up on dmca stuff and its strict as phuck.. but i mean theres no phucken way tumblr, reddit, facebook, twitter exist in their capacity if it werent for reblogged/ reposted stuff. Most of that being stuff they dont have the intellectual rights to

If it is posted to Tumblr it can be retumbled without a concern because of their TOS, same with all other social media sites.
It is technically an offense to take someone else's work from tumblr and upload it to Reddit, without a link to source, but most don't have the resources to go after it widespread.
Sharing a post on Facebook or sharing a link gives a link back, doesn't create a copy of the work, so it isn't a problem.

Also be aware, if you are posting adult content, you need to be following 2257a guidelines, because if in the US, the FBI is MUCH worse than a DCMA notice.

Dude when i looked at the digital millenium copyright act it said that if, for instance, someone posted a song to tumblr.. and they didnt have the rights to it. Anybody who reblogged or did anything else to it would also be in trouble. Which im sure most people dont think about

But if were really enforcing that that means every single tumblr would be taken down, in which case tumblr no longer exists. Same applies to all the other social media platforms.

So i understand the law i just dont see how we pretend platforms exist without this spreading of material.

Thats not even broaching the economic repercussions of those things not existing

You can't be willing to steal content from here and there to re-upload and at the same time worry about DMCA & copyright infrigement.

Of course some studios will send you notices, you might get your webhost closed etc. But that's the price to pay for a lucrative business. No gain without risk.

But honestly, seeing how you freak out about 1 pictures found on 1 tumblr, I'd say you're maybe not in the good line fo business. YES, stealing content and making profit off of it will eventually get yourself in trouble. So the question is not "Am I safe, will I get trouble?", but rather "How I am protecting myself against this? How well am I prepapred when a DMCA notice comes" etc etc. I personally receive 3 to 4 DMCA notices per week in my field of work, and always comply, deleting the content. For now it's simple as that.

I was just curious how many people literally get sued. As i said, the pics that i have.. good bet theyve already spread around like wildfire.. i just dont know what happens when the photo is linked to your domain for 20 years.

I totally get it from an artists perspective why theyd be mad someone is taking their content. First of all, i have no issue giving them credit nor am i interested in taking credit. Im interested in the traffic sharing the images would have

But i just find it funny the dmca is so strict, and yet the entirety of the internet is a file SHARING system. Its like they act like everybody would only touch, say, create or even upload things of their own and not extend beyond that. Nobody can touch anything else. Everything is just an extension or regurgitation of their own stuff so why the phuck would they be "sharing" in the first place

just playing devil's advocate. im guessing a big part of the problem is finding a source. in that.. you have those tumblrs where people reblog it 50,000 times. technically, all of them (if they didn't and they most likely don't) don't have the copyright rights are infringing upon dmca.

but with a domain that's a bit different because you can identify a source.

anyways, we see all of this talk here about making websites and i'd bet 90% are using something they dont have the rights to. i bet most big azz companies don't have all the rights to everything they use. hell, i can think of 2 businesses right off the top of my head that use things that they aren't supposed to. one being a font that they don't have a commercial license for

anyways, i just dont like the prospect of a pic lingering around websites forever that could potentially come back

Just wanted to know about this, I have a new client who already have a website designed by some other company he want me to redesign the site. But the company isn't giving him the domain and hosting details. So he told me to buy the same domain containing S at the end of the domain example: previous domain was- Example.com and new domain is Examples.com
So the information is same on both of the website its a property rental website so same images, description etc. Just want to know can i take the other site down by filing DMCA complaint? If yes, then how as i am new to this stuff.

They have one video of me i've been trying to get down for over a year now and nobody has responded to the multiple DMCA requests..

See if you can find their host and see if they are willing to assist.
There are some other options, more "nuclear" for video/pic removal. I've helped some friends in the past with revenge porn stuff(they usually ignore all DMCA requests as well).

Thats the thing, I have sent DMCA requests to them over and over, I reached out to their hosts to no avail.

In the past with your help, have you been sucessfull getting stuff down? If so maybe I can pay you or whatever to help out? It's getting really annoying. Let me know, and again thanks for answering.

anon-v.com as well as their hosting provider ignored all my requests to delete a personal content from their website and I'm already desperate.

Please let me know how you're doing.
