Should Pins Have Text Overlay Or Not?

What performs better, pins with graphic designed text overlays or without? I know taller images do better. Should I be throwing in text or not? In terms of performance I'm looking at clicks/traffics and repins.

The text I would be using would be clickbait text. Stuff like "12 Amazing Recipes You Can't Live Without" "9 Utterly Gorgeous Shoes That Need To Be On Your Xmas Wishlist"

Text all the way - non-text images will often get a higher repin count. But obviously click through rate is also waaay lower. Only exception might be porn and other useless niches where people expect to find more vaginas after the click anyway
