Used 34.45GB so much this month 25GB of it was from tethering. I'm in the States and have Sprint, so I can tether as much as I want with a 3rd party app and I only get throttled after 23GB if there is a congested tower. Which I doubt will happen since most people are either at school/work most of the day and when they are home they are most likely using a wired home Internet service.

Whats your records guys?

I guess it was last month, 48.89GB (start to throttled after 50GB but I think I never reach it)

I have downloaded well over 25 gigs in a day. I only use my phones internet when I travel. Complaint I have about tethering is that a phone cannot be used as a bridge when you have the hotspot enabled. My carrier does not allow tethering; as if that stops a jail broken phone, and my phone has a 'Get out of jail free' card courtesy of Interop Tools.

Have you tried to reach the 1TB in a month club? It seems like one of the coolest things to achieve on the Internet.

I used to have one of those unlimited data plans, but I'm not sure what my record was. These days, I never go over 800MB a month on my data plan.

I just checked my data usage.

It says 0GB.

I'm forever on Wifi so that makes sense.

I actually have the original unlimited everything data plan from Sprint. I was grandfathered in.

I just don't use it.

I used to have unlimited data plan but my carrier capped it at 30 GB + some other bullshit that I dont really need. Bummer, since I'm out of the house most of the time -_-.

Under the original plan they don't even do throttling on congested towers after a certain amount of data used?

I'm not really sure. Like I said, 90% of the time my phone is connected to wifi. Wifi doesn't use any data. I probably use like half a gig of data per month. So I've never had a problem with throttling.

I never heard of the grandfathered sprint before, only the Verizon one which can cost $1,000+ to purchase from someone. ATT also has a very rare unlimited $30/month plan for Ipad, that is worth like $2,500 now.

My family has been with Sprint since it was a cell phone company. We have never been with any other cellular company. So we get unlimited everything. They had a truly unlimited everything plan a few years ago but when people started limiting the amount of data you can use Sprint jumped on board. We just weren't affected.

That was the time the samsung instinct came about? I think I remember having some unlimited everything plan in 2008-2009.

Which plan are you using? I've been trying to find a carrier that offers at least 20GB, then I can tether with my rooted phone.

I'm using Sprint Family Plan with Unlimited upgrade, the built in is limited to 3GB but you can tether as much as you want now because of the FCC ruling last year.I use the EasyTether App.

Interesting, I had no idea about the ruling. Thanks for the info!

The info seemed be all over the place around this time last year, but it seems like seo was done by the cell phone companies in America to keep the older threads and pages on top of google search.

For sept, I'm at 301GB so far but slowing it down. With recent issues with samsung phones such as the S7, and Note 7 it is probably not a good idea to use a usb tether connection for home internet.
