The Car Rental App That Auto-Rental Places Hate!

Imagine an app.

It works like this. Bob wants to rent a car so he opens the app. He sees that your Honda Accord is available for $20/hour. He lives one block away.

He pings you and he's like, "I need a car for 2 hours."

Now you just had lunch and won't need your car. So you can let the fucker sit there and gather sunlight or turn it into a cash cow. I see parking lots just full of cars and they are not being put to use. That's like a VPS that's not botting, or a PBN that's not giving out any link juice, you catch my drift?

He rents your car and you get paid $40 just like that.

It's a nice idea but trust me, you would need a shitty car to do so, or a car that you don't care about. Because there are plenty idiots out there that can't take care of a thing tht don't belong to them. I have a friend that has a car rental service and almost his entire profit goes on parts for the cars other people ruin.

I think one obstacle will be verifying new users identity, you wouldn't let just anybody drive your loved car... the background check would have to be rigorous!

True. In my Utopian Society people would operate off trust. Like, "Thanks for letting me rent your car. I promise not to rob a 7-11 with it." Of course we would always have the guy who has a fake ID and smashes the car into a jewelry store. LOL.

That just wouldn't work, people would rent cars and wouldn't give a shit about it, imagine some fat fucker rents it and spills bigmac's sauce and farts in there, or kids rent it and smoke weed. Or some even nastier shit, idiots make pranks.
Or some smart ass just decides to pay you $20, takes your car and sells it for $1000 some to some random thug in the hood.

Nice idea mate. If you put more reasearch on the business model it might work well. There is demand out there since there are companies doing in my country but it is done manually without any kind of app. I dont know how they manage it but at least we know there are demand for this kind of service out there.

Www.gettaround.com already does this, has been up for 7 years now.

They provide insurance, and they are connected directly to the DMV to pull driver abstracts etc. Befor anyone can use the service.

I see people renting their bikes out around town by chaining them up in random places, waiting for a renter to look up a local available bicycle. Since this idea is already taken I will give you one for free. Visit Reddit's r//vandwellers and convince them to rent out their van-home on a gypsy-like airbnb app, just kidding...

I dont believe so. Like uber, lyft, didi, and grab. Some exist after another but they still gain their slice of the cake. That's why OP should think and find what the weakness of the existing company and tune on it.

The market is huge. Some approach will need a lot of money but some wont.
