niches

hey all, so basically I started an Ig journey back in april on 5 different accounts, the niches were

1) motivation + personal + fitness
2) fitness
3) tattoos
4) luxury
5) animals

after thinking about how to monetize any of them, i figured that i don't have any idea except in the fitness niche (as i am a personal trainer, but not a fitness model)

therefore i changed all the niches to gaming, and one of them is mixed with gaming + fitness + motivation + personal

I changed their name and lost all kinds of engagement (as expected) , but worst of all is that i am gaining followers at a very slow rate, like 400 follow backs from 3500 follows (between 5 accs), where i used to gain 600-800 for the same follows.

Currently I have a total of around 39K followers (between 5 accs - yea i know still very little)

My idea is to gain 100k followers on each account (for a total of 500k - by JUNE 2017, but with the current follows per week, [around 1.5k total at best] i will be lucky to get 500k total in 3 years time ) - which by then, 500k would be called a little page just like on FB today

After which, start promoting my youtube channel to them, so as to gain subs on yt and earn money using YT revenue.

So two questions:

1) Is the gaming niche good or bad?

2) Is there a way to actually monetize gaming directly from IG without the need of YT vids pls?

I think gaming is the most popular form of content on YT, so as a niche it's really saturated. Though that doesn't mean you can't benefit from it on YT.

True that, and to be honest I would much rather make HowTo vids (like how to jailbreak this or how to sell this, or how to make money on instagram ), than actually play video games, edit them etc. but at the end of the day, i saw channels starting in may 2016 and by now having over half a million subs just from pokemon go craze lol i didn't even know there was a plan for this game before it was like 2 weeks in the craze.

so i am hoping that i could ride on a craze bandwagon one day and get like 400k subs in 1 month or so lol

It's definitely possible. Just stay motivated and post a lot.

Yeah, it's also good to be on top of the latest trends and get recognition or subs that way, it'll help in the long run, assuming you can get the timing right and beat others to it. Which is hard, especially if you're just starting out and don't have a theme or previous content.

btw i was wondering if I should target my instagram niche on particular games, such as GTA or FIFA, rather than just GAMES... (some say its better to have a football account than sports, or red apples are better than apples) any thoughts on this please?

My ideas for YT vids are not gonna be gameplay, as that takes too much time to play & edit as well as extreme reaction like PEWDIEPIE and KSI lol. so i was gonna go with something like TOP Lists of games (Like 10 vids of top tens for fifa, top tens for gta, top tens for world of warcraft, top tens for runescape.. etc etc)

That's true only sometimes. If you precede to that route you will have a more targeted audience but visa-versa the other will have a larger audience. You just need to choose what type of audience you want, upload videos regularly, and your fan base will grow.

ehh that's kinda the hard part.

Because on one end I believe that if i can get more followers on general gaming, than i can have a higher chance of asking them to subscribe to my yt on general top lists of gaming.
On the other hand, since its general gaming, the engagement will probably be less than if it was a specific game, as if i post a picture of GTA, then, FIFA users will not like it and vice versa

at the same time i am really confused because on a general gaming instagram page you could try to monetize with some affiliate marketing like G2A.com (for gamers) in bio. however if its just a particular game, you simply can't sell anything, as the fans would have already bought the game.

i am starting to think there is a reason why all gaming pages, kinda suck and are filled with just memes lol.

fml, idk which idea is best or if i should refurbish all my accounts and focus on something like health/fitness or Money/luxury or motivation/business and then create a udemy course/ebook/ or some video course on how to get fit in 6 weeks or how to grow your business or how to make money off ig lol etc etc
