Wow I really didnt realise people were so passionate about Instagram so im sorry. Please accept my apology.

If we don't tell that you are wrong, you will keep believing it and in less than a week some new guy will read your post and think hashtags matters. Then after another week he'll create a thread here crying because he don't get any followers even while being on top of hashtags... Just look in the recent threads here.

We are here to discuss about Instagram and how to "beat it", accepting that people post atuff that is not correct will not do any of us any good.

Try targeting hashtags related to your niche and check if you are hitting the top posts for that hashtag. If not then try a different tag.

Your growth does not come from hashtags! This have been discussed many times here now, and the general consensus is that hashtags helps zero to none in terms of likes and followers. You might get a few from the other botters, but that is it.

I can assure you if you hit the top posts in all 30 hashtags ranging from 2-10 million you will get alot of likes and followers. This happened to one of my posts yesterday and i got 6k+ likes and 1.5k followers. Ill carry on doing what im doing because its working.

No, those tags brings you barely anything. You just hit explore which gave you the likes and followers. Hitting the tags is just side effect.

Hashtags WORK. Pick the right channels and post. Helps if you're a hoe tho.

If you are using really popular hashtags like 10mil + then there is less chance of getting to the top posts. I think if you are consistantly getting alot of likes on a pic it will go on the top posts page. Choose less popular hashtags to have a better chance of getting to the top. Then your likes and followers will come in. Like @incomesurfer said throw a few popular ones in too

Its discussed over and over again and advanced users will agree it's total BS. It gives just a little bit traffic, nothing more, nothing less. How did you double your traffic? You went from 20 to 40 followers?

The tags myth is totally debunked. I know 3 occassions where IG was a bit broken, the tags were stuck for 3-4 days. I was ranking 20+ tags in the 20-60M range.....you know what it gave? Nada, niente, nothing. Just an occasional like and follower.

Choosing a less popular tag to hit top tag? Then what? There is a reason why its a small tag. Whoohoo, hitting a 500.000 post tag.....with 400 million users and billions of posts. Unless your niche is super super super specific, its useless.

No I went from gaining 500 followers a day to 1000. Don't know why your so critical about this when it's working for me. Other guys are saying it works or does the advice of a newbie not count here? Maybe im just in a different niche to you. Or maybe hashtags bullied you in school. I dont know.

Trust me, as an ex-botter, putting your energy in other methods pays off hard. Instead of 6-8 months of stupid botting and crap engagement, I pull that shit off in 1 month manually.

Another pro is, when I was botting, this game can be pretty "lonely". Now I got a massive network with great contacts. You might need them in the future for whatever reason.

To be clear, Hashtags and S4S do relatively matter, but in a minuscule part. They might increase your traffic by a small %, but this will not make your account blast unless you want to wait five years to get that few hundred k big account.

What @VapeMonkey and @alxmax are trying to point here is that S4S or Hashtags might give you that that small %, but that won't close the deal, what seals the deal on IG is the potential of the Explore Page.

Hitting 1k followers in one day and no hashtags with only one pic, just with the explore page, it's a whole different story than gaining that bonus +50-100 likes thanks to hashtags or S4S.

Do you do photo SFS or caption SFS?

For myself I absolutely refuse to do a photo SFS to keep my feed consistent. Only S/O's I do are captions for my buddies. Same story for customers, I just refuse their business if the photo doesn't match my feed.

If it is SFS yeah, only do caption SFS, only do photo shoutouts if they pay for it

I understand what many point out here. Only do manual, SFS, etc. But, for many of us who have small accounts, or handle client's small accounts, we don't have the connections that you do with large 1M accounts to repost or mention your small account.

With that said, there is nothing much we can do, other than bot, follow/unfollow, like, and hashtags.

If you guys know of a better way to move starting small accounts other than botting, please point it out. But, please no "contact 1M large accounts" examples, as the large accounts will not touch little accounts with a 10 foot pole; or spend money on SFS.

I just follow manually max. people whenever I have a little spare time. Just make sure you have some good content up. For every 100 ppl I follow I get at least 50 followbacks and a bunch of likes for my account. Doing this for 2 weeks and near 10K now. But it's an old account with lots of good (own) content so maybe that's the traffic boost

- You need the right niche. An explosive one.
- You need the right photos. Close up shots, that can be seen without clicking on the photo. Nothing small.
- You need the right hashtags so the photo can even be seen. Anyone saying anything different is not building an organic Instagram with legit interaction. Only people with 15k+ followers can stop using hashtags. If you have a smaller account, hashtags are your best friend. And they are FREE! And you get 30 of them! So use them!

Don't use stupid hashtags either. Use ones people actually care about.

If you are in the Real Estate niche, the hashtags #home and #realestate are good, but #mansion is EXPLOSIVE! Do you get it? Nobody wants to look at a home, but they DO want to see a mansion!

Try this:

1. Go post one of these mansion photos on Instagram right now without any hashtags:

2. Then, post the photo again with the hashtags #home and #realestate.
3. Then, post the photo again with the hashtag #mansion.

You don't even need to post these photos to know which one will get the most interaction.

Hashtags work.
