hekke’s Journey from $180 to $100K

What budget would you recommend to have to start with an amazon aff site? In a low-medium competition keyword.

Budget kind of depends on the speed in which you want the site ranking. If you spend nothing then maybe 2-3 months to have good amount of content and some backlinking complete. Otherwise if you have $2000 you can basically outsource all of the articles (at least 25-50) and make some backlinks and have the site ready within a month while you wait for the backlinks to dripfeed in.

Loving the journey thread (and the new blog!) - apart from the Grannies!

Dude, you're Swedish. Must be some nubile, younger (wouldn't be hard) local talent you'd care to share?! ;)

Thank you. :)

Do you drip feed PBN links or they are added all at once. Also do you leave them to indexed naturally or you index them specifically using any method?

Great journey and i am following it mate.

Drip feed. All indexed naturally :)

I'm just here for the Grannies.

Great.

I'd say $150 for content, and then 10 PBNs a month at least, but of course, the more the better :)

Update

I am already seeing a great impact from the links. It have gone from 6.7% of my keywords being top #4-#10, to 26.7% being top #3-#1! The plural of the main term just jumped a solid 7 spots today landing at #13, it's a term at 3,000 searches per month. The main term, the one at 30,000 searches per month, should follow along accordingly since the competition is basically the same.

It's usually taking much longer to see the impact of PBNs (1-2 months) but I am getting pretty much instant result from the 20 posts that was drip fed over 2 weeks. I am so excited to see the impact of next months PBNs, as well as how fast this journey will take. At this pace, we should be able to be done in 2-3 months at most! :)

Just want to say that I've been following your journey threads since last year and appreciate the effort you spend into journaling the progress here. :)

As you rented a part of the network for yourself you have pbn posts that stay on the homepage, right?

Post here some stat from earnings, because you should get $ boost when your traffic doubled or tripled :-)

Good luck, You are gettings results fast. how much are you making now. Are you still in the 150$ per month range ?

I enjoy it as well! Thank you :)

I bought the whole network for this site. Adding 20 sites to the network per month.

It's still the same, like $180/mo. It's not that interesting to see daily/weekly updates on earnings. I rather focus on ranking, because the real money comes when I sell it, the rest is just some extra (beer) soda money ;) I guess I can update the earnings every month or so though since people LOVE to see earnings screenshots. :)

Looking forward to see your success. Good luck!

Good luck!

Thank you :)

Do you build backlinks to those PBN sites?

No. The PBNs are built on expired domains that already have links pointed to them. You could build links towards your PBNs, even though they have existing links, but I never bother to. I just don't see that much of a impact for the effort. It's better to just put everything on building more PBNs than putting resources (time & money) towards anything else in my opinion. At least for small niche sites.

Update

As I said previously, I knew the main keyword at 30,000 searches would follow along - and it did! It is now at #14 after being at #12 just yesterday, it's bouncing a bit, which is normal. That's a increase of a 8-10 spots in just 1 month, I must say, I truly impressed! I am really excited to see the results of this coming months' PBNs to see if I can reach first page in just 2 months of PBNs. :)

I am truly sorry for not including a granny in the last update. I will contact a mod so that I can solve this urgent problem. It won't happen again.

@hekke how do you get different ips for each pbn? Say i want to start i buy my pbn domains, where do I get hosting with different ips for each pbn?

Hijack - You will either get it from shittons of small hosts. You can find pretty good deals on http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ , however, managing hundreds of hosting accounts can be quite brutal pain in the ass and I am talking from the experience. There are also SEO hosts, which will do all the hard job for you, there are some good ones on BHW, for example Easy Blog Network (not affiliated or anything), which leave a slight footprint, but considering the deindexation, downtimes or sudden disappearances of the entire hostings without refund, it's really just a small drawback.

What footprint do Easy Blog Netwrk leave??? Bhw???

Thanks for sharing hekke and good luck with your plan ;-)

@LiquidSnake

I bought links from there 6 days ago. I tried to contact that person, zero communication. I'll report back if I don't hear anything after another week.

Goodluck mate. I will try your method soonest. Hoping to get lots of information from your journey.
