I am a college student with a talent for writing so i want to put it on use. I already wrote a couple of articles for our school newspaper and some tabloids and my editor says they're good for my age. now i need a living to continue my studies so i am accepting any articles you want to throw at me. Just brief me about the article you want me to write and i am ready to go!name your price!!!!:yield:

Hey,

You'd be better off signing up for a freelance site or starting your own news site and making money through advertising. People in this forum don't understand newswriting (inverted pyramid and features). They just want to pay peanuts for rehashed shit. The same goes for Associated Content. I mean $3 for a news story. That's ridiculous.
If you shoot me some samples of your work, I might be able to use you in some of my other projects.

That's a pretty bold statement to say people in this forum don't understand newswriting there mate.

That's my opinion. I'm sure there are some people in this forum who understand newswriting. I am one of them, so obviously I wasn't talking about everybody. Since you have a problem with what I said, maybe you are another one. But then again, looking at your sales page for your product... I don't know. But like I said, it's my opinion. Sheesh.

Very true..everyone has an opinion, but to say that people in this forum don't understand newswriting is pompous. That's like saying that all newswriters can't write web content. Regardless, the landing page isn't a news piece and was outsourced my friend.

he could try his skills here to gain some experience than go on to those freelancer sites. btw people are worth what you are paid so if a writer doesn't like the offers because the price is to low they can just say no or ignore it.

tnx for your advice I'll consider it.

Since you have journalistic skills, you have a chance to earn more money as a stringer for local papers. That's how I got started. Most papers need help covering all the local government committee meetings and high school sporting events and most will pay $15-20 per article easily if they use it. If you play your cards right, u can easily get 2-3 articles per meeting.
Papers may even pay more than that now.. that's what a mid-sized paper paid me some years ago, so I had a nice extra $200-300 per month from them for a while, until I got hired full time.

Let me know if you open new article writing service or website so I can check it...

Werrich is right, being a stringer is an option. I think you're in the Phillipines, so it might be different, but over here it's hard to even get an internship at a newspaper. That's why I suggested freelance writing. Another site you can look into is Examiner.com. They say they are highly selective, but you can probably get in with your background. You have to write three articles a week (about 150 words), but you make $10 per thousand pageviews. It's also affiliated with a real news conglomerate (the San Francisco Examiner,Baltimore Examiner, and Washington, D.C. Examiner) owned by billionaire Philip Anschutz.

The best part about it IMO is that they don't care if you republish your content elsewhere. The way to make yourself known, and make a brand for yourself is through syndication.

If you use all the social bookmarking skills and black hat tips that you learn on here, you could create a great little revenue stream for yourself.

You can used your talent to earn money online.Personally,my first article was for a trial of how it looks like to publish my own but it turns out to be a job after a month. There are people who read my article and hire me to write for their topic.
