Hi guys,

I have a website that donates to churches. I already had 3 customers tell me to show proof of my donations or their going to report me. Every quarter we donate to this charity and don't really make a profit for ourselves.

My question is should I be showing them my donations that I make through paypal? I don't have to say I made this much last month and donate this % because they would know how much I make a month.

Thank you

I Think you should give them proof, if you want to keep your credibility. If they're gonna report you, you're gonna get more trouble, even if your story is true. Be transparent for the sake of your business. If you don't want to chances are that more customers gonna doubt your donate-to-churches story.

That is true. Should I just give them a screen shot of the donation I gave from PayPal? Should I blur out some stuff? Also, I found out with my other website I give donations to... I DON'T have to disclose what I give because its NOT a non-profit organization... some customer said they wanted proof that I donate. Thanks

You can blur the amount you donate, the bottomline is that you donate, not how much, that's not your customers business.

Thanks for the info. If one of my websites is a non-profit and I do donate do you think I still have to disclose that information. I don't mind but it's questions from customers like that I can't stand.

it's not customer's fault. Look around and you will find so many dups. They get concerned. Just a blurred screenshot will do.

If you're taking donations to then send to a charity then expect people to ask where those donations are going!

If you're a non profit then you need to show how you're doing it.

If it's got to the stage of people saying they're going to report you then it's already a loss in trust aka gone too far

I mean if you truly do donate I am not sure why you would have any issues showing that you do. Transparency is always best.

If I were you, I'd show the customer all the donations that you've made. You can also explain the expenses in the form of site maintenance, your salaries, etc. I hope you got it.
There is nothing you need to worry about until you are on the right path.

Simple
When you donate to a charity
Get a Receipt
and everytime you make a donation
Put the receipt up on the website

This not only gains you credibility
But also encourages more people to donate.

Set goals every month, and make a big deal of it. when you reach them.

Hiding yourself only brings doubt and suspicion.
