I've seen a lot of threads here about Tumblr mass ban. Why do they ban tumblr accounts if they are allowing NSFW ?? is it related to affiliate links
What does that mean ?? do we get ban even just for adding queue posts ??Why not blame the bot you were using like many other people?![]()
It really doesn't necessarily has anything to do with botting, they have a very interesting item in their TOS, where they can terminate your account for so-called 'non-genuine use of social gestures'. Basically, if you follow people to get followed back, they'll probably ban you. Now here's the interesting story from my experience. I got my couple accounts terminated (nsfw), terminations happened right after intensive following/unfollowing. One of the blogs was getting about 1.2k notes over 3-day periods and I was making about 10 posts a day (another was straight-up spam, through ifttt via different rss sources). The point is, when you become big enough and start getting your posts in top-ish positions for several search keywords, and on top of that follow/unfollow vigorously, you'll get under the radar of their spam-detection system, and most likely banned, and they'll accuse you of 'non-genuine use of social gestures' and reject any appeal to restore the account.
But i guess if you follow not too many people a day, and have big enough intervals you won't get auto-detected and terminated. Maybe.
Well, my educated guess would be that they are really trigger-happy with nsfw blogs. Though I have been browsing BHW forums for quite a while and have seen people saying their non-porn blogs got terminated. There's one active thread about banned tumblr accounts here now, I'm monitoring it myself to see whether the purge wave has cooled down or not.Is this only for NSFW . I already have couple of quotes blog with almost 100k followers but nothing happened so far
