I had thousands of videos posted and I had got a stupid automatic copyright strike of footage that is public domain (it had been a video that had auto content id match I forgot to delete months ago). I made a counter claim and within a few days my monetizationn was disabled with no new reasons given(not sure if this was related). YouTube did forward the counter notification and said that if they hear no court orders being taken within 15 days the video will be reinstated but I am not sure if they will ever reinstate the actual account seeing how they disabled my monitization 2 days later. shouldn't it have been instant?. Does anyone know what happened or if my account will be reinstated once the copyright strike is removed in 15 days?. Is it normal for monetization to be disabled days after a strike and not right away?. Is this a process of making a counter notification?

I'm feeling absolutely defeated with no idea on what to do or what to expect.can anyone can offer some advice?. This is so stressful

Don't accept defeat mate, everything is valuable when you gain something from it.

Regarding your issue, I'd recommend you to remove that video which got content id match.
Let 15 days pass and re-start the work again. Just make sure, you delete the content id if it is getting matched :)

Any idea on if it's even related to a strike. My monetizationn was not disabled until days later...

More info on the timing

Ok so today around 12:30 am I lost monitization. Yesterday around 10 am my counter notification was forwarded by youtube to the claiment, and the day before that was when I got a strike and also when I made the counter notification. Shouldn't I have lost monitization instantly after getting the strike or is it a process that takes time? thought there was a 3 strike rule to begin with.. or maybe not when making a legal claim so they stop monetization until the claim is resolved? I have no idea but... I HOPE. Does anyone know?.

I was thinking that if monetization was suppose to be disabled instantly the account may be dead..... it's so upsetting. If anyone knows please help.

After much research I had discovered that youtube still disables monitization for one copyright strike and monitization is normally disabled after 2 days. However they cut it to only 3- months for the expire waiting period and also added legal claim support to where you can challenge any strike with a 15 day lawsuit period meaning that if they don't sue you within 15 days your account is reinstated. This makes your account pretty powerful. I have never had this happen and hope that youtube sticks to its obligations and frees me.
