I set up a linkwheel using squidoo as my focus hub. Did it over a 3 day period using pretty much unique content on each spoke of the wheel.

Hupbages was one of the spokes and it jumped to page 1 on G within a day or so. Of course it fell off after that. So instead of making a wheel around it I made 5 more properties and pointed them at my HP and my squid lens only and did not link them to each other.

Over the last few days my hub has climbed to #1 on G. But my squid is nowhere to be seen.

Also my squid lens has been on page 1 in yahoo for over a week and has now hit #2 there. Funny thing is my hubpage is nowhere near the top on yahoo.

Was wondering if G picked up on the linkwheel or if they just love hubpages more. Yahoo sure loved my lens.

Im gonna keep building but not making wheels for now and point at different spokes on the wheel and my lens and see what happens. I put most of my work into the lens and have some cool pics and stuff.

Would appreciate any thoughts about this from yall.

Thanks and sorry this is so damn long! Jdog

Thank you for sharing your usefull experience and mine too.

Thanks for sharing, I am trying to get as many knowledge regarding LinkWheels as possible! :)

Has been an experience. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just wondering if google is sandbagging sites using linkwheel. Or do they just love HP a bit more.

Yahoo put me to #2 within a week, but the traffic sucks. Big G put me to # 1 after a bit of work.

Any link wheelers wanna comment on this. Anyone using squid lenses as their hub via google sniper ebook? Just was a bit weird the way it turned out.

I'm sorta incorporating all of them together and seeing what happens! Thanks to all who respond!

I have noticed this with Google too for the last few months that my lenses just aren't ranking very well so I dropped them totally for now since I can't automate lens building. One other property that's been real good for me has been USFreeAds.

I know it ain't no secret, but it's something I've overlooked for almost 3 years off and on since I first heard of it when I got started thru Travis Sago's Bum Marketing.

I just started using the premium version, it's 9.99 a month and you can place unlimited ads. I now include it in every linkwheel I build. Google shoots it straight to the top 5 in most cases - of course it's not 100% all the time but so far so good. This time I'll stick with it and be more consistent.

You can also get a good initial boost of traffic to your ads from USFreeAds users too. I typically have been seeing slightly over 100 once your ad is posted - this was with electronics type ad. But the views pretty much die after the 24hrs since new ads bury yours.

And don't ever worry about Google sandboxing anything, every site goes there when it's new and should come out unless you were playing naughty.

That site does work deth on websites...never pointed it to my lens. Will it work there as well? Will it work on lenses and hubpages?
Just a question and thanks given for your response deth.

As far as I can tell google slapped squidoo lenses the last week of March and they haven't recovered yet. I had several high traffic lenses, and one lens that was in the top 1000 and doing extremely well for me. That last week in march, traffic from google to all of my lenses basically stopped. The worst part was that I wasn't doing anything bh to get the ranking, it was natural - organic wh.

I think squidoo realized this, hence the reason they're going to start clamping down on affiliate/spam sites.

I wouldn't recommend placing anything important on squidoo now. They're okay for backlinks, but i'd avoid anything else.

Wow, just wanted to follow up since I posted about USFreeAds...

Today I made an ad, took me about 20 minutes to whip up by hand and another 10 mins or so to find a good clickbank product that matched up...and my USFreeAds was indexed in 20 minutes on page 1 of google. I am #8 right now in 20 minutes since I posted the ad live.

Just some statistics for you all:

Search volume: 3,400 monthly average from G's keyword tool
Competing pages: 681,000 broad and 2,000 Phrase
Pinged ad once
Answered 2 questions at Y! Answers with ad URL as source - and I do it by hand so I can really put my personality into it if the topic interests me

Now let's just hope I pre-sell well enough to convert into sales. Experience also tells me that my ad will rise and stick to first page if I keep building links to it. Now I'm off to bookmark it...

Well, it's been almost a week - did you make any money? :D

Ideally if you can get your own site ot rank well that would be much better....
The Quidoo game is over though, like the blogger back in 2004. No SEO boost. maybe hubpages is more promising. parasite hosting
