Hey.. so i'm going through all the usual steps of someone trying out black hat seo :) .. i've bought packages, pbns, social bookmarks etc and a few months later i've realized that i should be looking for quality over quantity in my Tier 1's since this is my main money site! The damage is not that bad so far(about 30 Web 2.0's, 15 pbn posts and a few other low quality links) so i'm looking to move towards Quality over Quantity. Good quality is obviously more expensive so from being able to afford 30 web 2.0's a month i can now afford just about 2(with Tier 2/Tier 3).
My question is: Are Just 2 Very High Quality Web 2.0's a month(with Tier 2/Tier 3 low quality content for link juice) + a couple of high quality PBN posts per month enough for my site(low competition keywords on page 2 to 4). Or do i need to add more links just to make it look more natural.

tl;dr: Will moving from 50 odd low to medium quality links a month to just 5 to 10 quality links(+ a few social signals) a month make my site look like it's going through a downwards spiral for google or will the quality of the links counter that?

hey buddy try to make all niche related backlinks in WEB 2.0 and PBN because quality backlinks will help to rank quickly

Just do 20-40 high tf cf tumblrs and make your own pbns. About 10

Tumblr's are very powerful, do as the guy above said.

Get expired, I even power up my own with more juice usually. Good to get some decent quality book marks and pbns

Try to find niche relevant links, good metrics on the sites and make sure they're not spammed to death.

You will have to monitor progress yourself. If you build 2 web2.0s, check how they perform and scale accordingly.

For the members asking OP to try out Tumblr, have you done so with positive results?

You can add 2-5 quality web2.0's with tier 2 per month. The tier 2 links you choose and the anchors you pick also make effect accordingly.

Thanks all! So helpful! Stuck on the second page but should break through with a lil quality..cheers

5 quality niche-relevant links will always give you more juice than 50 low quality links. And that rings true for both web 2.0 and PBNs.

I've been stuck on page 2 for months, apart from lower search keywords around the 500 to 700 searches per month on page 1. About 20 web 2.0s with 4 to 18 posts per web 2.0, 5 to 30 pbn tier 2 links that I've bought behind the web 2.0s. My main search volumes for the main keywords are larger at 60000, 22000 and 4400.

It was a wise decision to switch from LQ backlinks to HQ. Although it is more difficult to get good niche relevant backlinks with decent metrics, it is definitely worth it.

HQ backlink acquisition is certainly not difficult. Today, it's more than possible with niche-relevant guest as well as blog posting.
