It looks like KickassTorrents (Kat.cr) is down, possibly for good. Users began reporting problems with KickassTorrents on Wednesday, although the site itself was still reporting that everything was running fine. But now nothing is working, including the site’s own status page. Recent news that KickassTorrents’ alleged owner was arrested and seven domains were seized by the U.S. government likely means that the site will be down for good soon.

That sucks badly, i downloaded all my movies and tv shows from kickass and now piratebay also is offline!
 
They maybe targeting streaming sites too, solarmovie is down since yesterday also!

I wonder how long will it take until someone comes up with a trackerless (a.k.a distributed) torrent index.
eDonkey (from emule) was sort of like it, but it sucked ass.
 
Looks like they were tracked down via iTunes purchases. Two or three songs bought from Apple revealed the same IPs as the ones the police was searching for, which revealed their credit cards and real identities.

Ethical pirates got caught because they actually bought music :oops:
