Recently one of my sites got injected with spam links. I tried my best to sort out the problem but I have no knowledge of PHP or databases.

I created a thread here asking for help from the fellow members. And guess what, quite a few people came forward to help me. No one asked me to shell out money. No one trolled me. No one reminded me the obvious - if its a WP site you've got to secure it.

And with the help of my fellow members (@Asif WILSON Khan in particular), I was able to recover my site.

My heartfelt thanks to @Asif WILSON Khan, @Panther28, @cyber.surfer, @onlineonly, @ficfroc, @coccodimamma, @cornovox, @validseo and @kevin shah for their time, help and support.

Thanks to @Kyle6 and others who must have wanted to help but were as clueless as I was.

The links were present in Pretty Link Pro's table, but they were not visible through PHP MyAdmin. It was when I exported my links to csv, I found them many cells right to my last record and spanning to few more rows. I don't know how they were placed and accessed, because when I browsed the table in PHP, I found nothing.

I couldn't find out from where they were called in scripts, so I deleted my WP (except my posts and images) and re-uploaded it through my PC. And then I installed a security plugin first.

Experts who are willing to help! This is really the best place to ask for help when you're in deep sh*t. Although many have tried to ruin the "sharing is/and caring" atmosphere by demanding hand-outs or to be spoon-fed, yet the atmosphere here is still intact. And thank god for it!
