Newbie question

Would you consider a domain that is abit low on the metrics(DA,PA,CF,TF as low as 5) but have 1 to 3 interesting backlinks from dated content, atleast 2 to 6 years of big authority website(e.g bodybuilding.com)?

To add on the backlink has decent metric

Metrics don't matter but if it only has 1-3 backlinks I wouldn't bother personally.

of course the authority link is more important, metrics can be wrong most of the time, don't take it as law.

When it comes to PBN, the strong back link profile would do better. As others said, don't rely on metrics.

The link comes from a dated content(perhaps abt 4 years old) .. it is still recommended to consider the domain?

do you have other options? Like other domains with stronger backlinks? If not then go for it. You can change metrics but cannot get backlinks like those (I could be wrong)

Honestly, most of the lower metrics are actually genuine and don't have bad signals.

The link is already pretty old, meaning that on a site like bodybuilding.com, it's probably slowly but steadily dropping deeper and deeper in some archive noone (including Google) cares for a lot. Doesn't sound like a bad domain, but in general, with just 1-3 links you really depend on these links staying where they are. Zero redundancy, if they are gone the domain is completely worthless. That's the reason why I always skip those domains, I don't want to check the backlinks of my PBN sites and exchange them if necessary too often.
