Ok. A strange situation for a well known friend of mine.

He was offering editorial backlinks for his clients privately. Today morning, he woke up and saw an email from one of the top authorities of a particular magazine publication.

It says, " Can you tell me more information about the process. I don't know if you're aware but it is against our editorial guidelines. and many more asking more credentials about him."

I see many of you are selling the same service here, do you guys ever received any emails like this?

What is your advice guys? What should he reply? or simply ignore this email.

My 2 cents are to completly ignore such e-mails but on the end thats up to your friend.

Cheers

Yeah, That's what I have advised him to do now. But since it came from the original magazine mail, he is very stressed about it.

My 2 cents are to completly ignore such e-mails but on the end thats up to your friend.

Cheers

Any suggestions from others ?

I would definitely ignore it, possibly remove any of their branding from my sales copy.

If they are a big publication they could claim that by offering to sell guest posts / editorials they could claim that you are ruining their reputation. Sometimes it is easier to go the safer route and just ignore it and remove anything that could be causing them issues.

There is little to prevent you from selling posts on their sites to existing customers or to others that request them but advertising it and using their branding on your website / sales copy could be opening yourself up for legal issues.
