Yesterday I found a video that uploaded 3 hours ago on the first page of youtube in "how to lose weight fast" keyword which is very high competitive. so we can say that unlisted method still wroks. Maybe with a trick. You can check it because it's still on the first page.

I've been using the unlisted method for a few months now . Sometimes it works and ranks me for high competition keywords but it doens't last long , only a few videos are still ranked and keep getting attention for some reason.
So, if the unlisted doesn't work , what does ?
I have been thinking of buying a shit load of seo for my channel itself , ranking it on the first page of google for avarage keywords. That way people can find my channel with all of its videos rather than wasting money on backlinks for a single video.
Does any of you know what else works on youtube nowadays ?
I also have a few questions :
Do backlinks affect YOUTUBE search ?
Does social media attention such as twitter RTs, shares, google shares , facebook likes affect youtube search ?
Basically what affects youtube search NOT GOOGLE SEARCH ?
Also , I know this is out of context but I've been thinking of something else. My facebook page already has about 8K likes and gets 10-30 legit likes every week . If I buy A SHIT LOAD of likes for my facebook page , will that affect facebook SEO , ranking my page higher , aka more traffic ?

Always works for me, but only because I use a good provider. I add: minimum HR Views, Likes, Reshares and it ranks high. After releasing i add another hr views to be ensured it stays. This gets me on the front page and haven't dropped yet, nor quickly if so. I used to drop, but I think adding reshares makes a difference.
Hey follow unlisted, how long do you keep your videos unlisted and does it have an effect depending on the time the video was unlisted ?
Me too . My idea is perfect though . If you are one of those people who upload copyirighted episodes of movies , hoping to get some quick cash , this isn't for you because sooner or later your account will get banned . BUT if you're like me , with a channel that you are going to be running for years until it gets HUGE , buying a shitload of backlinks and other white hat methods to get a better rank in google for keywords releated to your channel so that people actually find you might be the best idea.
ANOTHER thing that i've been researching lately which I THINK might be HUGE :
I saw a guy a few weeks ago with 50K subs BUT he also had 25000 GOOGLE SHARES on this channel and I mean the channel link itself. WITH 1000 VIEWS THIS GUY WAS RANKING 3RD FOR REALLY HIGH COMPETITION KEYWORDS, ranking above channels with millions of subs. I have come to the conclusion that google shares MIGHT have a REALLY important role in SEO . I bought 2000 shares for my channel link directly a week ago, INSTANT IMPROVEMENT in ranks , I went from ranking on first page for low competition keywords to medium competition with less views just like that. Only problem is that there arent too many places you can buy that many shares directly for your channel and some are really expensice but like I said I think this MIGHT have a HUGE effect on ranking on youtube . for me unlisted doesnt seem to work, i unlisted video, added 10k hr views 90%+ ret), 100 likes and about 50 comments and after 48h i listed it and its ranking nowhere

This is not how I do it , this is very WRONG .
What I do is I upload the video , purchase views , it takes about 3- 12 hours for the guy to start. once it takes off, I publish it. Basically you want to publish the video THE MOMENT it starts hitting them decent views per hour. And also I know that keeping a video unlisted for more than 24 hours has a serious ( negative ) impart on ranking .

and have you had good results with it? ive even uploaded without unlist method and still same issue, my video just doesnt rnak anywhere even though there isnt much competition..
Well maybe it is the views that arent good
also you need a good channel SEO , not just video seo
make sure your channel has an overall good amount of views, a few thousands subs, make sure you link your channel and videos on all social media sites , make sure your videos also get shares , likes and comments , reply to people who comment, create fake comments etc.

this is the way i see it. it's very simple and based on many recents tests i made (some of them even posted here on BHW)
Unlisted = not indexed yet on youtube
when you upload a video straight up as unlisted (this is the most important factor, it MUST NOT get to be public at any point)
this way you have a video that didn't get indexed yet, you can take your time now to send as much traffic as you want (the more is the better)
after a few days (2-4 usually) you go public, and youtube is going to index the video and credit the boosting as a "trending" video,
as if ALL the views came along on the public hour at once...
so unlisted video that got 100K in 3 days when it will go public it will seem to youtube as it got all that traffic at once (just like a real viral video...)
with that comes a boosting effect that's called the "unlisted method"
NOTE: very important for those who says it's not working for them
the boosting effect will work only on locals where your traffic VPH is over the average VPH at that day
example: if my public video gets traffic that contain 10K per day from india (that's average of 400 VPH = not enough)
but if unlisted for 5 days and then go public - the effect will be similar to 50K per day and 2000 VPH, and my video will have a great chance to rank and trend on INDIA
(this will work only if 2000 VPH is faster than other top videos getting)
