A YouTube Shitstorm is brewing....

There are several companies doing this already. Its big now because warner got involved.

Nothing new. Its like link buying/selling. Companies go to these stupid gaming YT chanells that kids watch, they bribe them, they play their stupid games telling those stupid FB generation kids that games are great. Kids tell their moms they want $50 for a game, parents buy games, kids play games for 7-8 days, they watch new video from pewpwedieofjfj, or whatever his name...and so on.

I don't see what's the big deal with it... Almost everyone do it in one way or another.

This happens all over the place. Companies will pay politicians to "lobby" on specific things in order to get their own way. But you never really hear who pays who what to lobby on something. That's all kept hush hush unless you really dig in to it.

It should always be "buyer beware" with any sort of review. Its down to the buyer to do their own research when purchasing a product. If they've based their decision on a video that's had a favourable review paid for then that's their own problem.

Because without disclosure there's no way for consumers to distinguish genuine reviews from paid endorsements.
Makes sense that ftc got involved.
