Fake likes are like heroin. You think you'll just do it once because, what the hell.... the the next thing you know it's consuming your life.
I played around with fake followers & likes on one of my accounts just to see what effect it had. I found myself having to go back every day to buy more likes to keep up the charade. Best not to start.
I can see buying a few followers to get you started with a new account, but beyond that don't do it.

No fooling buddy. That additional 30 real likes cost me $1 and it bumped up my average permanently. I grow all of my Social Media accounts with this strategy to give it a boost. If done right, buying likes is a proven strategy to grow an account. But you can't seem see anything but your own opinion.
"Boost" and 30 likes just don't do it for me, that is my point. No matter if you got it for free or paid a million, 30 likes is not a boost. Even before hitting 1k likes, you'll realize that your daily number of likes will fluctuate quite a lot.
Looking through this thread, this is not only my opinion, but the majority that participate here - fake likes are not worth it.

Fake likes are to out weigh your competition so yes.
Also fake likes show others your vid or account worth looking at.

Just curious... do you get powerlikes all from accounts with the same/similar niche as yours, or are you not picky about it?

30 natural likes was from just the first post. I said it bumped up my average permanently, so every post I made after that received more natural likes than the ones before. I then continued to boost every post with a believable amount of likes in relation to the others and then ran a paid Facebook campaign to get page likes. After this, the page snowballed and I no longer need to buy likes.
These people may not have even bought them before and just think that it is not worth it because of what they have heard. At the end of the day, what works for some, doesn't work for others. You may of had a bad experience buying them but I have grown all of my Social Media business accounts when they were brand new using this strategy.
How does it ruin engagement, do your real followers no longer see your post?
I have some success using fake likes, gets me to top posts, my content carries itself after that. It's important that it gets to top though, it stays there for days at a time, which helps a lot. Having only 6K followers, I only bring in a paltry 400-700 likes. I can do an exchange for 200 likes and get a thousand more. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. At this point 1K and over is kind of a big deal to me.

How do they not help? What I do is add tons of likes to my picture and get it to the top Trending for each of my 30 hashtags. Then I get natural likes from people interested in my niche. I don't see how these likes that got me to the top of the hashtag under trending and drove real traffic/likes/follows hurt instead of helped? What do you guys mean when you keep saying it ruins your engagement? Just a number, or does it actually cause less people/followers to see my post somehow?
Alright, seems worth it for you, maybe because you have combined it with other paid methods, so how many likes are you at now? Im still standing on, that its not worth to buy likes, as they will only get you to the top of hashtags, which brings you about zero traffic (do not get fooled by the botted accounts that target hashtags as organic traffic).
You hardly get any traffic from getting on the top of hashtags, that is why the fake likes are not worth it.

They may not be worth the money you spend on them, but they dont hurt, do they? Say I get likes for free... Why would I not use them?

Don't cry here when your accounts get flagged or limited by IG unless they are throw away accounts.
I've got enough PM's from people with limited accounts because of buying fakes.

Its Depend but for my experience , Many people already know about it they are going to buy fake likes. Once they create a brand page and to attract organic fans in start they need to buy facebook likes because people love crowd . For example if a new model has only few likes nobody like his/her page but once he get 1000 to 10000 fake likes people will likes his page , same strategy new brands are following. so we can't say fake likes are no worthy..... But token likes are no working after crackdown of facebook in March 2015. Now many companies are offering real likes and ads likes for real techniques.
