Anyone know any tips for eBay SEO, or analytics tools? Terapeak looks so basic regarding listing analytics.

I am a powerseller selling an obscure niche item for a large profit. I do well when my listings are up near the top (obviously). But I can't figure out why last month all my listings are suddenly buried.

In general I think SEO is pretty much worthless for eBay, and works much better on Amazon. I think too many people try to keyword stuff the title with as many popular keywords as possible but eBay has specifically said that they penalize people who keyword stuff to get in as many searches as possible.

I know the keyword stuff doesn't work, but I do know that the Best Match at least relied upon clickthrough/impression and purchase/impression rates.

They must have changed something because the guy who was always over me is also buried as well.

Yes there algorithm is pretty much number of sales, conversion rate and account status from what I found doing it for 2 years.

You get sales by setting the price to lower than your competitors then raising it as you climb to the top and using a description that will convert them eg. 1-2 day delivery, money back guarentee ect... it's pretty easy, unless they've changed it just recenetly

If it's not just you issue then it might be just eBay moving listings across servers. This has been known to be an issue in the past where listing's visibility spikes down when it happens.

Another thing I noticed is that if I list something every day, that gets more sales than listing items all at once.

So a lot of listing activity = more sales?

I don't have hard data but that has been my feeling as well.

Thanks guys, so is keywords in title not that important?

Not really. Remember, eBay rewards items that come in specific searches rather than in most searches, let's say "18K gold round G color SI1 Clarity Diamond Solitare Ring" rather than "diamond ring pretty gorgeous, etc" But in general your account strength and sellthrough rate will be far more important than what words you put in your title.

Always ship on time, and always underpromise. A lot of the items i have 7 day ship time even when I know it's shipping within 48 hours. No one complains about items showing up faster than promised.
