Find great topic ideas for my blog

I currently have a freelance blog, recently I have been having difficulties finding topics ideas for my blog. I know google now ranks sites base on the quality content. So are there any good places to look for great ideas? Someone recommended trendingquestions.com which gives you trending questions and topic but has anyone used this site and has any good results from it?

I haven't tried trendingquestions.com.

I find brainstorming to be quite effective for coming up with new topics to write about.

When I read books I take notes on the important points and find better ways of presenting the information in a way that people can actually use and implement in their daily lives.
