Hey guys, I own a 14.5k account on instagram and used to have a really good engagement rate until the last instagram algorithm months ago. Since then I stopped posting as much seeing as I was getting fewer likes and comments and not being able to crack the explore tab anymore. Recently I started back working on my account it seems like the barrier to break is still there. My question is how long does it take to regain the lost traction. I'm getting about 50-60 likes per photo instead of 100-200. Is there a new method besides buying likes and shoutouts and using FL that will help boost this?

100-200 likes for a 15k account is crazy bad. 2% is the average but you should always aim for 5%+.

I know. It's in a hard to cack niche especially since I do most of the content creation on my own. I need to find a way to break this. I'm not doing this to just build up a following, I did this for my business, which since then has slumped down.

this is way to low ... try to post good content .. nice pictures.

What was your previous engagement rate? What are you shooting for?

My engagement rate has dropped off a little over the past 2 weeks, but nothing that bad.

Post good content and keep posting. I think there's a tendency to lose followers and engagement after breaks in activity. Also, try posting at least once a day.

Engagement dropped from 10% to 5% in a 6k account, didn't change anything any ideas?

@Melonduck I have another account at 4.7k now having 1.2K+ likes per post! wouldn't want that to drop :(

@Pavlo178 That's still a great engagement rate, even before dropping. You'll still be getting a big amount of likes, no worries.

When my account was @ about 11k I was getting about 200-300. Now it's even worse. I changed my niche just a bit but kept it close to home and since then it's dropping more. Still the same amount of followers, now getting 50-60 likes. Hmmm at one point it was becoming too stressful to make new content for it, I'll figure out something.

Changing your niche might be a reason for such a drop if many of your followers don't care about your new niche.

last month has been bad for everybody

check on ink361, check any account stats and you'll see the curve of likes going down

its summer

ig changed logo, algo and many other things

plus users are following way more then in the past = way more photos in their feed = less likes

only way to keep a huge engagement is to never stop and never lose the momentum....meaning posting 3-10 times a day every day, doing S4S every day, being into DM groups etc

but its worse than working the 9 to 5 routine
