College and IM

Hello. I wanted to ask this question.I'm a mechanical engineering student. I finished 2nd year and it is going great for me, but on the other side I'd love to make some money because my family is poor. Since I study mechanical engineering, I don't have plenty of time to work outside of my home (lot of the assignments are hard and take some longer time to learn). So anyway, my question:
Can I finish my 2 years of engineering and also start IM (i will be able to work on my affiliate projects 4-5 hours a day when i have a lot to study and 6+ hours when i don't have my exams).

It will be hard, but it is definitely doable. Most of us guys have 9 to 5 jobs and still manage to have time for IM and internet things...

Yes can do both. Make sure you DO finish your studies first though; those should be your number 1 priority. If you want to attempt IM full time, you will have a chance to do so after you graduate.

Yea why not, I work 10 hours Monday - Saturday in a full time job and I put 20+hours in IM

I just quit college and decided to move back to Europe. I finished 2 years of Business Management. Yeah, college is always a thing you'll be able to rely on, at least in my opinion. A degree is a degree, and without it getting a real job will be much more difficult.

Despite making good money prior to college, I still decided to go to college and have it as a backup plan. However there were lots of obstacles in the way, not as much time, this , that etc and my earnings went to complete shit, literally. I just dropped out a month ago. Why? Because I'm certain I'll be back to where I was earning before, and even better.

My advice to you is. If you haven't been earning good money online prior to college, don't quit. Lots and lots of failures on IM (not saying you are going to fail) but let's think logically, it is a risk. Your degree is a good one which should be able to get you a good income & lifestyle. So unless you are earning great money now, or earned before college (and are extremely confident you'll be able to earn it again), then yeah you can drop out.


Realize though that what you're doing is a big thing and can/will be a life-changing decision. It may be a good, or a bad decision. Be smart about it.


Ultimately it's your decision, and nobody else's.

Well, I do not have any earnings yet from IM since i will open my website soon. I was just studying about IM. I have this whole summer to get started and i will try to make time along the way. I have no problem with working. It will be motivating for me even if i can make a 300-400$ a month, along with the college. Like I mentioned, my family is poor and this is the only way to support it, since other kind of job is out of the question. I have the commotion of my own home, I don't have to travel to get to work, so I figured, why not to try IM. It is something i like and I'm not bored with.

I was in a similar situation. In the last year of college, broke as fuck. Unlike you, I didn't ask others whether it was possible or not, because I knew it was. I spend 5-6 years working on IM, while explaining the situation to my teachers. They passed me even though I had failed most assignments.

So yeah, it's possible.

Well i can't pass my exams like that. Mechanical engineering degree is not something that all prof. would just give away... But however, I will try my best to make money. It is all i can do

I will not leave college. I wasted 2 years already, and I was taught that once you start something, if you want to get any benefit from it, finish it ! I will try and build income while on college. I've learned all the basics already, read a lot of ebooks, lot of BHW threads etc. I need wordpress training and i will start my IM business in couple of days.
