“I had never heard of Windows 10,” Goldstein said. “Nobody ever asked me if I wanted to update.”


When outreach to Microsoft’s customer support didn’t fix the issue, Goldstein took the software giant to court, seeking compensation for lost wages and the cost of a new computer.

Microsoft dropped the appeal and claimed that they did so only to stop the litigation. I believe that MS dropped the appeal because they did not want to set a precedent that Windows 10 is destructive to users and business.

The only people whining about windows 10 are using ancient computers. The software is fine fair enough its a bit "snoopy" but other than that it increases performance just get rid of that daft cow cortana or w/e she is called.

You just might be wrong. A person/business might be using a piece of software that requires a specific version of Windows. Emission control computers used by many auto repair shops are on specific example of a business program where version specific OS is required.

I am long out of the repair/support field. When I was doing the work I had a auto repair customer bring a computer in for an OS reinstall. This customer brought in the particular OS install disc for the OS they needed. I reinstalled the OS and the emissions program and then updated the OS. With the job done, I took the computer to the customer. The emissions program would not work on the service pack one whereas it would with the OS without the service pack. To correct the problem and restore goodwill, I reinstalled the OS without the service pack and reinstalled the emissions program. I took the computer back to the customer and it worked. I did not charge the customer for either OS install because I fucked up by not listening to the customer in the first place that the emissions program required a specific version of the OS.

The above true story is not the only for of business program that may be borked by installing W10 on new hardware. There is a very good reason that most IT admins will not allow an OS or program update without testing it against the programs they use.

What i don't get is that people bought a program that says in its EULA that they can change it, (both the EULA and the program ) at any time. I would be SHOCKED if they actually go anything out of it

No they are people who do not want to be forced to upgrade to Windows 10. It forced itself onto one of my laptops, whilst I was in the middle of work. Then wasted hours of my day. Due to the fact I was sat in a bar, I had to stay there till my laptop had updated.

There should be an option "Fuck Off Microsoft, I do not want Windows 10", alongside the only options of update now, update later.

I like Windows 10. You have to move with the times. MS are just like the ultimate salesman, so good they sell you the software before you even realised you wanted it.

It did not force it's self onto your laptop it gave you notice you can force it to stop. I have 7 other laptops that have avoided it so I guess I must be wrong about this right? Lets face it people get dick ache over not being aware of whats happening in their surroundings. Even if there was a 50ft sign telling you its going to happen you would still complain when it did stating "i didn't know" "i feel so used" etc etc.

It just insistently mithers to install Windows 10. After several hundred times of saying no. It took it upon itself to install Windows 10.

We have upgrade our laptops to win 10 and honestly we love it. Of course we take care of some trackback/spying M$ configs
@mickyfu is right, until before 2 weeks (or so) M$ tried to push users to upgrade nomatter-what. After users start complaining they turn it off.

I think this is the problem, 2 days a go when I put my pc on afk mode , they currently install windows 10 on it without telling me first (I'm sleeping at that time).
And when I woke up my PC already installed with windows 10 (In my mind what the fuck I never install them and never accept anything about it)
Do you guys have any idea what's going on? And will this ruin my PC?
idk how they able to install it without letting me know
