Don't know what I'm missing to rank these keywords...

Website is 4 months old now, onpage is spot on, keyword I'm targetting has only 1k MS, my article is 700-750 words long.

First 3 results are Forum threads with 0-3 backlinks only with hardly any keyword density, yet I'm still stuck in #4-5 all the time.

I've also done plenty of offsite for this 1 post, in fact even sent 1 PBN Post + 150 Blog post links to it (Drip feed of course) and it still won't rank #1 (I've also sent some other stuff before this for diversity, total of over 200 links for this single post).

How can it be so hard to outrank forum threads with no backlinks and hardly any keyword density.

Could be a whole lot of things. What's your bounce rate? What about page speed? The "blog post" you sent on this page, what's the quality? unique or spun articles? Keyword density vs other top 10's? How long have you been stuck at #4-5? There's just too many un-answered questions to be able to give a definitive answer.

Bounce rate is 85-89% since it's an amazon website I guess that's alright, page speed is fast since I've done everything possible to optimize the speed.

The blog posts were kind of low quality but all 100% unique articles and they still should hold plenty of value. Other top 10's hardly mention the keyword, if they mention it twice that's a lot, they have less than 0.5% density for sure while I have ~1%.

I was #7-8 prior to the blog posts, its been 2 weeks since the blog posts dripfeed ended and I'm sitting at #5 atm and was #4 at peek, haven't done any link building since then.

Also depends on the user intent Google assumes (with the help of the giant pile of data they have). Easy examples: If someone is looking for "keyword experiences" Google will show loads of forum results (first hand experiences of individual users). If someone is looking for "buy keyword", Google will prefer sites actually selling "keyword", online shops. Even if your site is 100 times stronger than any of these forum subpages, as long as they exactly match the user intent and your site doesn't, it will be hard to outrank them.

On the bright side: 3 forums threads in the top 3 sounds and only 1K search volume sounds like a narrow niche without too many competitors. Many forums aren't monetized on spot, but use Adsense or similar. So, being the only result with a targeted product or service can be really nice. You probably stick out of the crowd, even at #4.

sign up to the forums, get active in other threads (avoid the ones you're competing with) and build up a small post count, post informative non-spam replys....then slip your link or site name into the posts that are ranking above you.

Add more content to you page.

Add more than 1 PBN link. Keep adding more if no movement, if the page is that important to you. If it still won't budge perhaps it just wasn't meant to be.

Not worth building a PBN just for this one keyword. Especially since Amazon has fixed fees for the niche I'm in.

When you're down to that top 5, a lot is playing into the hands of CTR. Is your title highly attractive? Description?

My CTR sucks even though I have something no1 else has in this niche (the rich snippets) but then again I'm also not top 1 so my CTR is lower than it's supposed to be.

2 weeks is probably too early to tell and one pbn wont make much difference even if its low comp. Id throw around 15-20 web2.0s at it, blast them and come back in a month or two

Already done that

u need more PBN + social , that's it
They have 10+ tweets + 1 g+ and a few fb shares something that the other pages don't + PBN isn't really worth building for these kws

keyword may worth to you. if it is, then do PBN, not low quality. do 5 PBN, even from fiverr, u will rank strong for long time.

10 tweets, 1g, it's nothing... u need at least 20 tweets, 10 g+, . it will help very little or none. But PBN for sure.
