Hi Guys,

I'm driving ppc traffic from Adwords -> to my article -> which links to a affiliate offer.

How do i track what keywords end up converting from adwords to my affiliate offer, if there is a landing page (article) between the two of them?

Any ideas?

Cheers,
AZ

You can use a tracking platform like Prosper202 (free) or Voluum.

Then, you would submit your tracking link to Adwords rather than your article. You can use dynamic tokens like {keyword} in the link you're submitting, and Google will replace it with relevant data about your click.

I would suggest using a tracking platform since it will give you granular data for optimization; for example, which "landing page" or device is converting. It would also allow you to make connections, like which ads are converting well for which landing pages. You can then fine tune your campaigns to increase profitability.

If you don't need this, you can just place Adwords' pixel on your offer to track conversions in the interface and see what's working.

There are trackers for this purpose (in no specific order):

1. Voluum
2. CPVLab
3. FunnelFlux
4. iMobiTrax
5. Prosper202
6. AdsBridge

There are a few things you might want to try with this type of funnels.
1. Rotating articles / landing pages - AB test
2. Geo-target the call to action - where you're sending the visitors when they hit the call to action - perhaps some offers in certain countries convert better than others.
3. Try pushing multiple offers from the same article - like a review site.

Our software can help you do that and a few more things.

Good luck.

I use prosper202 but i think about test clickmagick - it look really cool

I advise to use AdsBridge for tracking. The settings for AdWords are not so huge on their side, so you could make them easily. Also, their support is highly responsive.

Did you end up trying TrackingDesk?
One thing that I didn't mentioned is the fact that you need to make sure that organic traffic can also be tracked.
Our platform has a feature that allows you to track both organic and paid traffic.
Good luck

I'm guessing this is a full scale project? @AgentZero

There are many trackers to choose from: If you are not sure which one is good, then get the one that is expensive. There is always a reason behind the price, because using it correctly will generate you a lot more money.

Pricing is often a question of marketing as opposed to quality or features.

Not necessarily.
When choosing from the big providers, the expensive ones are almost always better for serious business.

US example: cell phone providers T-Mobile and AT&T have extremely competitive prices, but Verizon has unmatched quality: and therefore is a lot more expensive.

You get what you pay for.

Directtrack was very expensive and service / software wasn't that good.
Hasoffers hit the market with very competitive pricing - 50-70% cheaper - with a great platform

Directtrack disappeared... and hasoffers is booming...

AWS / Azure / google cloud Storage and bandwith prices have gone down at least 50% since 2014. Since cloud based software pricing is directly impacted by those "commodities" market's prices, it is only natural to see a decline in pricing, which doesn't necessarily has anything to do with the software quality or company' health.

This conversation can turn into an interesting academic debate;)

At the end of the day in order to pick a software or service provider, there are multiple matters that should be taken into consideration - features vs what you really need, pricing and future developments.

food for thoughts...

Gotta love a good debate!

Yeah, yeah... I get that there are exceptions. But do keep in mind, you wont get a quality service/product for free. Nothing is free! Hell, if you find something for free, that just means you will be bombarded with ads, your information will be collected, or you worst case scenario something unwanted is bundled along.

My point is that, in most cases, quality costs. - That is, excluding false marketing/scams.

Putting it simply, it takes money to make money, and it all starts with a quality investment.
