It is really profitable to build and sell services based on proxies. I do ASO to get my users. Go to play store search "fastest VPN' , you will find my VPN at the 2nd result.

I agree with "vpnguru". Affiliate forums seem to be flooded with proxy/VPN providers though.

Instead, building a Chrome extension or mobile application might open you up to a less competitive marketplace. Most of these seem to operate on a "freemium" model; where the user gets a certain quantity of data for free, and then have to subscribe to continue using the product. By that point I figure the users are already hooked and willing to take out their credit cards. Most of them seem to be doing extremely well.
