Penalized in Google - Copy and Restart on a Different Domain?

I just got a blackhat site penalized. The site has been entirely deindexed from Google so I was wondering if perhaps this means Google won't use it for checking for duplicate content anymore (since I suppose they won't be crawling it).

I was thinking I could just take the site that got penalized and reboot it on a different domain now (same HTML and everything), then SEO the new one instead and be able to rinse and repeat the process with my sites that get penalized since the site was deindexed by manual action.

Any ideas?

A year ago this was possible. And it took them quite some time to find out about the replica. But I am not sure if today its still possible

You'd have to rewrite your content and change things up (layout, page structure, images) a bit before moving over to the new domain. I know guys do this ALL THE TIME here, but the goal is to move over and not get caught ever. I believe there was a guide on this once... try the search bar here.

Hmm, did you try it yourself?

I don't mind the whole getting caught thing at all though, my main concern is if a replica of the same content will be detected as a duplicate of a penalized site. I agree I'd be better off changing it up so my goal is to set-up a second site with changed up content as well as a first that was a replica just to reap the easy side benefits. Do you have any experience with a penalized site being copied over and ranking fine again?

Last October most of my sites got hit, 6 in total, and a week later I had them all up again. I cloned them, used different aged domains, moved to different web hosts and relaunched my SEO efforts. Had no problems getting them to rank again. One site has been #1 for the past two months, another in the top 2 for all major keywords, and the others are either page 1 or getting close to it. All are making me money. The only thing I changed on these sites was my SEO strategy.

When they inevitably get hit again I plan on repeating this process and will relaunch them all on different aged domains on new hosts. The key is to make sure your sites are profitable enough to justify the time and effort.

Awesome to hear! I was skeptical about the idea since I didn't want to waste a lot of time and resources only to get my sites hit immediately for having the exact same content as a penalized site. Knowing that it'll rank fine is good enough for me. Thank you for the input, appreciate it a lot.

Edit: By the way, what do you mean by aged domains? Domains that kept their age after you bought them from a domain auction or expired domains?

Yes, by "aged domains" I mean ones that I got from auctions. Actually, I just used some of the stronger domains from my own PBN. It is not a necessity, but I just did it to give it a jumpstart.

As far as tactics, I went strictly for quality links. I was in the process of starting my own PBN when those sites got hit, when I relaunched them I kept building it out and used it as my primary source to rank. It was a slower process, but after six months I was in great shape. Some of my sites are crappy affiliate sites that got hit for being crappy affiliate sites. They will get hit again for being crappy affiliate sites no matter what type of SEO I use, but they make me money in between hits, so I keep recycling them.

If you site get deindexed. Contact google directly and solve the issue and resubmit again. Improve the content and get some really good backlinks

Alright, I'll probably take some of my own PBNs/older domains for this purpose then, thanks.

Any idea if Google would treat it as dupe content if I took the site that got slapped, put it back up and then put up a second site that kept all of the HTML structuring of the first site, and only edited all the text content that the user can view? I mean, would that second site count as using dupe content of the 1st? I figure to the human eye the structure of the site is all the same but the content is different, so to us it might be considered very different so long as I throw up a different color scheme, but for Google's spider, if the HTML structure is similar it seems as if they might not treat it the same way.
