What am I doing wrong?

I started my Instagram account a few months ago with my own logo, decent bio and a unique hashtag. I always put out quality pictures (personal opinion) with description and credit to owner. I use relevant hashtags and tag bigger accounts in the picture. I give comments and likes to users within my niche. Quite a few. I also follow around 100-200 users every day. These users are people who have followed the major accounts in my niche.

So the question is - What am I doing wrong? I'm only gaining around 10-20 followers a day. Few likes (I have cheated to get more likes - not good, I know.) and very few comments. I have about 1.5k followers and following 600 right now. I'm in the luxury niche by the way. I don't want to use a bot, but do the work manually.

(Sorry for my English.)

doing it manually is going to be very tricky :/ many people botting out there and I think the best way to do it manually is to just follow 300 people an hour for a couple hours and then unfollow them at night. Following 300 people in 10 minutes wont get you blocked, and then in between you like things. Will take a couple hours a day though

On average, how many likes and comments do you get on a picture?

Do you follow & unfollow at the same time? Instagram reduces growth when it sees this behaviour. If not, you might just be following too few people (10% of 500 is bigger than 10% of 200) or just the wrong people.

Your growth is also too slow to justify the effort of doing things manually.

Buy mentions on big accounts +1 mill
You need to invest if you want performance

I agree KenTZ. The growth is so small that it's not even worth doing it.

Since I've been cheating to get more likes (don't ask why - just stupidity) I'm not sure have many likes I'll get natural. I will guess between 30-60 likes. Maybe more, maybe less. Comments are low. From 0 to 4.

I follow and unfollow the same day, but only unfollowing the users who's not following me back. I have thought the idea of followers more, but are afraid of being banned.

Although growth is small, I have no intention of giving up.

you mean you bought likes? Well if you dont mind the growth just keep going like you have been :)

Well I didn't buy them direct, but for free. The growth it's very important for me. What I meant it's that I don't want to give up the IG journey.

Anyway the meaning of the thread was seeking help in understanding what to do to get some progress. I appreciate any tips, as long as I don't risk being banned. I really don't want to lose this IG account, but I want to see some progress.

Question:

Whats the point of making these instagram accounts ? Just to follow a bunch of attention-seeking weirdos? Like how is it profitable?

Manually you can follow 1000 users a day without trouble. Following 100-200 people a day and just sticking to that is not to any use at all, it is just too few. Lets say 20% follow you back, and then after that you receive a 10% engagement. Then 200 follows would in the long term bring you 4 likes.

High quality photos means nothing if you don't have anyone to expose them to. Hashtags are bringing you about ZERO traffic, you are a very good example hereof. You won't gain any audience/followers unless you engage - You have to maximize this if you want to grow, otherwise it is just a waste of time. Follow more people, like and comment more on photos in your niche, always respond to comments on your photo. If this sounds like too much work... Welcome to the bot world.

Yeah. I need to know that too. :d

Okay first of all, you must be very, very new to the concept of Internet marketing or marketing in general. Which is fine! You're in the absolute best place to learn and grow your knowledge of these things, I suggest reading around and asking questions, learn new things. So, to answer your question internet marketing boils down to getting the right traffic (audience) to the right place or offer where you can either sell others products or yours. With Instagram accounts you are building up an audience, or traffic, to be able to market products to. You can also sell Shoutouts, or sell the account in generals. Very good and cheap way to go about getting started in Internet marketing

The problem i do suspect that you are not engaging the customers as you are supposed to do. One thing with Instagram is that if you can not connect with the target audience through the pictures and the short videos, then the likelihood of you doing well in that area is totally limited. Also you need to develop a culture that favors the fans that you are having, for example repostig all those who tag you in their posts it is a good move btw.

Okay. 1000 users a day. How many per hour? 100 per hour x 10 times? When do I start to unfollow people? When I'm reaching 7600 following or the day after I've followed 1000 people? I really have no clue at all.

How should I do it? I have written in my bio "Use #xx for a chance to be feature - unfortunately no one use the hashtag.

...and Thank you to all of you!
