Ask Me Anything about selling on eBay

Yeah I have a question maybe you might know the truth behind it as seems to be no direct answer but do truly unlimited accounts exist such as account you can list unlimited items at any rate?

But I found out I could pay off the negative balance and I thought that would restore my account? so it will never be reopened?

As I said it would be restored IF you had no other policy violations. Now you have one.

Ebay employee admitted that there are two kinds of limits. Account limit that you see and internal limit that you can not see. Accounts crated before 2009 does not have limits but if you start listing 500 new Apple laptops it will trigger internal limits or worse, a manual review.

I don't hear much about Ebay's Affiliate Program. Is it worth it because I have an account with them but should I spend time with it and use craigslist as a traffic source by building an official website with ebay products?

I am basedin the UK. I wanna dropship in the USA, Canada or Australia. Which country should I choose? Do you know any resources that I can read and learn how to do it?

You should always choose country where most of your customers are.

most of your customers will often be in the USA, it is a much larger customer base than the UK or australia

Been selling on eBay for about 2 years now and I recently got limited due to my "defect rate" being too high.. My question is how long do "Transactions you canceled for being out of stock" stay on your account for?

Thanks!

Did they reduce your limits or ban you from selling? If they reduce your limits but your account is still alive, your defect rate will go off your record 12 months after the fact, but if you have been banned from selling due to seller performance issues, unless you can have some of those struck off your record by eBay reps, your account is almost certainly gone forever.

They reduced my limits to 5 items a month or $2.5k in sales. And the first one I received was June 29th of last year so I should be good to go next month.. Thanks for the quick response! I appreciate it

Hi Tom, awesome thread, read the whole thing. My question is:
Do I have anything to worry about if I open up an ebay in my girlfriend's name (all new information, will use different IP) and immediately start making $200+ a day, and sending this money to my personal, verfied, non-limited paypal account? Simply trying to evade selling limits.

I recommend against linking existing paypal to new eBay accounts. Although it may work initially, in the long run you will run into significant problems.

Will this be a problem even if I were to make her a paypal, accept the payments on her ebay into her paypal. and then send the money from her paypal to my paypal?

Why not just open a bank account under her name and withdraw directly? Or better yet, why not start a stealth account and link your bank account?

I didn't realize it was an option to link your bank account to a stealth account. I had plans to buy one, but I was under the impression that putting your bank account onto a stealth paypal would link it to me, seeing as it asks for the back account owner's name when filling out that info.

The banks give paypal only two bits of information. 1. Is the bank account number valid or not? and 2. Can the account receive deposits?. In general unless you start moving $5K+/mo through your paypal, this is the way to go, and above that, you can go the LLC method to keep everything legit and legal.

4. I don't recommend having more than 2 checking and 2 savings account at a bank, as having too many mismatched paypal deposits might set off red flags at the bank.

Ok what answer do you give the bank teller or bank manager when they ask why do you want to open a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th bank account?

Also are savings account's working fine with stealth Paypal accounts for you?
