But if you have to act quickly when something new is trending, how are you going to have enough time to find content writer, wait for them to finish, get the content over to your website. It could be days before you finally get your content.

You'll have to act fast. It is not impossible to find writers within a few hours and start pumping out content from there. A few days doesn't really matter.

I had 25,000 words on the site, I guess around 15 articles.

I got in on this niche in July last year - my son asked me for one because he saw lots of Youtubers talking about them and I thought it sounded like an interesting product. Also made an easy 5 figures with no backlinks and about 15 pages of content. I'm kicking myself that I didn't work a bit harder on it, but we weren't to know that the niche would blow up like it did. I changed my links to eBay after Amazon banned them around 12th December but only made another £1000 after that. Nearly every online retailer banned them early this year. So many public places have banned them as well it'd hardly be worth buying one now.

For this type of quick rank site I'd actually try to go for a EMD, I didn't manage to snag one before they were taken so mine were a PMD (partial matching domain). For other types of affiliate sites I tend to go to brandable type of domains.

What do you even mean? I got traffic from long tails, so I did no other work other than just putting the content up there.

It's very simple - you don't do anything to drive traffic to your site but write good content for low competition keywords. I couldn't believe it myself when I ranked so easily, but the niche was so new and so uncompetitive (yet incredibly popular) that even a newbie could've cashed in on it if they got a site up before the end of the summer. No need for a more complete guide because it's all here.

It's only a short term fix because even if your niche doesn't die out, lots of other affiliates will jump on it eventually, so you will need to work on traffic generation and backlinks after a while (if you don't want to be outranked). Although there are popular products every Christmas, I think this particular niche was a one off in terms of massive success for little work. I'm currently working on a site for a product that I think will be popular this year, but I'm putting a lot more work into it and I don't anticipate the same success as I saw with hoverboards. It's not a niche that will die out though and I intend to sell the site next year so I should still get a decent return.

Agreed, if you can see what's trending, you'll end up finding niches you didn't even know existed. Build a site around that niche real quick, create some simple scrapebox links to each page and you'll undoubtedly get some viral traffic.

This might be okay for the short term, but long term I'd like something that's more stable income wise. The problem I see is that it seems to be a churn and burn method. You're constantly having to create new websites around whatever is currently trending on Amazon in order to continue making money. Sure you can create backlinks to keep your website ranked, but what are you going to do when the trend dies out? That's the problem with trends, they get hot and then fizzle out.

You'd either have to be very lucky or very quick to come across a trend that's brand new with hardly no competition. Alot of the people that are new to this and want to tap into a new trend are going to miss out most of the time because they won't be able to jump in fast enough, that's especially true with newbies.
