Expired domain was previously 301'd... Useless now?

Just checked on Archive.org on a random date and saw the domain I am using was 301'd in the past. I also saw that most recently archived is an Apache test page, apparently it was hosted in Japan.

Should I drop this domain and get a new one?

Even if it was 301s, check how good its backlinks are. If they have been spammed, avoid them, if not, and if it has decent backlinks then still good.

Backlinks are good. So G will still index the site even though it was 301'd before and I will get the link juice back? Never dealt with this problem before.

Also, not sure what the Apache test page in Archive.org is all about, nor the apparent Japan hosting. Hopefully it wasn't used as a PBN before. That's the issue with Archive.org, they have like 1 snapshot every 10 months, and misses huge gaps, and many times it returns an error for snapshots.

I built PBN's with a site that was 301's to a myspace page for about two years 2 weeks ago. BL profile was great and other than that, nothing was wrong with the domain.

Domain/new content was indexed really fast and I saw a small boost already. You should be fine.

You can also try to verify your domain in screenshots.com if archive has a huge gap. Also check the whois records to see if it was previously penalized.
