Some large media companies are using ad blocker blockers and are finding that people just go to non blocked content. Unless you have unique content that cannot be found elsewhere on the web, you are cutting your own throat. Would you like a bigger knife?

It depends on the approach you are using... But I wonder why one would use an external service like this and even more what is the benefit of those running blockadblock.com

How do you make more money this way? Since those questions were connected, please also answer what the benefit of the script-provider is since I don't see any and I hardly doubt they developed the page for free which makes me question why one would use an external service instead of detecting adblock on their own (it's really easy, lots of tutorials out there).

Actually the question was what the benefit of those running blockadblock is not what the benefit of someone using the script is.

Whenever I encounter a website using an Adblock blocker, especially a site I know that loads slowly due to having 50 ads on the same page, I just hit the back button and click on the next best result.

@Zwielicht when you exit, a new visitor enters. If you have quality content (Providing solution,interesting etc) people will disable adblock. Its for money sites. If visitor doesn't earn me money i don't want him on my site. No charity.

It is now an offering for cell phone services for the carrier to block ads. Of course it is an upsold service for most carriers, generally $5 - $10 month more on your bill. The advantage of such service for cellular service is less bandwidth used or needed.

Forgot to add in that many ads send your IP address and browsing history back to the ad server and that this is one way of tracking users browsing habits. Many users do not like being tracked. There is also the issue that ads are now one of the largest vectors of malware. Common security advise is to block ads for AV/malware protection.

I was simply stating a glimpse of my own behaviour as a web user; I wasn't saying that Adblock blockers are always a bad option or that they don't ever work.

If it's a site with quality content or I really want to read the article, then I'll disable my Adblocker or whitelist the website. However, as I already stated in my previous post, if the site bombards me with ads to the point that I can barely scroll down to read the obfuscated (by more ads) text, then I'll look for the next best option.

Sure, it's common sense for most... but as said blocking adblockers can be taken to your advantage if done right.
I'll send you an example of how to block adblock in a smart way (don't want it to be posted public)

If a person has a quality site they won't have a ton of annoying ads all over the place, and there will be people that would turn it off, but this script won't help crappy sites.
